Uniting Africa’s Payments Through Blockchain, (Partnership Call) Yesterday, I had the opportunity to talk about Boundlesspay (Adaverse ‘23) and the BPay Token on a Twitter Space, diving into our vision to unify Africa’s payment systems using blockchain technology. Reflecting on my journey with blockchain, I still remember buying my first Bitcoin back in 2016 when BTC was around $739. That initial experience sparked an interest that’s only grown since, as I’ve come to see the immense potential of blockchain. Two years ago, I took on the role of Chief Marketing Officer at BoundlessPay, where we’ve made significant strides in building utility-driven crypto payment solutions. With our MVP alone, we’ve reached over 100,000 users and successfully onboarded 35,000 KYC-verified members. This achievement underlines just how essential blockchain is for bridging financial gaps. BoundlessPay’s mission is to harness Africa’s vast potential—a continent with 1.3 billion people, brimming with human resources and entrepreneurial energy. However, one of the main challenges remains seamless cross-border payments. Fintech has emerged as a powerful force, with eight out of Africa's top 10 startups focused on payments—proof of this continent’s capacity for fintech growth, particularly in Nigeria. Nigeria’s success in payments shows us that if it works here, it can work across Africa, further fuelling our ambition at BoundlessPay. As Chief Partnership Officer, my role centres on aligning BoundlessPay’s vision with strategic partners that can help us expand our reach.
