In September, we launched our literacy project aimed at equipping young girls in underserved communities in Port Harcourt and Lagos, Nigeria, with essential literacy skills. Additionally, we facilitated the payment of school fees for young girls in secondary schools in Port Harcourt, reinforcing our commitment to the education of every girl child. This year, we are bringing every woman into the equation by investing into every girl child and woman. Life is free but what is the value of life when threats to said life abound? In the same vein, education is free for the girl child in some public schools but how free is education when materials required to adequately learn are unavailable? This year at URIO we choose to accelerate progress and more specifically, economic growth and development by championing education for every girl child.
