The Executive Director of Media Career Development Network (MCDN), Mr. Lekan Otufodunrin, has advised journalists and other media practitioners on the need to prioritize belonging to professional networks during their active years in service. He made the call during the launch of the #EndMisogynyNG advocacy campaign, organized by Journalists for Christ (JFC) in collaboration with the World Association for Christian Communication (WACC) in Lagos. Otufodunrin shared his personal experience, recalling how a colleague, during a three-month training at @Thomson Foundation in Cardiff in 1998 encouraged him to join the World Association for Christian Communication (WACC Global ) since he was a journalist and also a Christian. Students from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) stole the spotlight at the 2024 Campus Journalism Awards (CJA), clinching multiple honours at the prestigious event. The ceremony, organised by Youth Digest, was held on December 7, 2024, at Cosmopolitan University, Abuja, celebrating excellence in campus journalism across Nigeria. Winners have emerged for various award categories from the final shortlists of the 2024 Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ)'s (19th) Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting. There was however no overall Investigative Reporter of The Year winner for the edition Commended works, runners-up and some winners of the six categories of the award were announced and presented their awards on the night of December 9, 2024, at the MUSON Centre Lagos after the conclusion of the virtual Amplify In-depth Media Conference by the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ). Chair of the Panel of Judges for the 19th Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting (2024 WSAIR), Mrs Stella Din - Jacob Director of News and Editor-In-Chief of TVC COMMUNICATIONS News has suggested how to improve investigative reporting in the country due to decline in the quality of entries submitted for the award.
