As we go about connecting Africa, here's a reminder that staying connected isn't about technology but about being in touch with people, especially this holiday season. A quick call, a video chat, or a shared moment of inspiration with our loved ones can go a long way to make the season memorable. This connection is what keeps us human. Let's keep up with it either online or offline. 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑨𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒂, 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 #infratelafrica #technology #digitalinclusion #ruraltelephony #ruralbroadband #internetaccess

So we asked Chatsonic, an AI chatbot like Gemini and ChatGPT to predict the future of telecommunication in Africa in 2025, and here's its prediction: Africa's Telecom Future 2025: • Market to reach $63.17 billion • Rapid 5G adoption • Mobile Internet driving economic growth • Digital inclusion expanding • Growth in IoT, cloud networks, and cybersecurity. Do you agree with the prediction? What would you add? Image credit: Chatsonic #infratelafrica #technology #telecommunications #artificialintelligence

In the past, during festive seasons, people travel the most to reunite with their family and friends. Telecommunication has, however, helped to make this reunion easier. This Christmas, over 250 rural and remote communities we have connected will be able to communicate with their loved ones effortlessly without having to see them physically. This benefit wouldn't have been available for the communities if they were ignored. The cities alone don't make up Africa, rural communities are also inclusive. Building rural Africa is as important as building the cities. Last week, we were honored with the presence of SpaceCom representatives at Infratel Africa's Headquarters. The business visit is such that seeks innovative ways to bridge the existing digital divide in the country and also ensure quality service delivery to remote Africa. The task of improving the country's digital footprint is great and thus, needs a collective effort to achieve. Let's join hands to make history in the digitalization of our dear nation and Africa at large. The maiden edition of the International Conference on Telecommunication organized by the Nigerian Communications Commission and Obafemi Awolowo University was a success. Physically at the event was our very own Infratel Africa Managing Director, Tunji Alabi, who, alongside other telecom stakeholders, discussed the present state of telecommunication in Nigeria and the way forward. "While we've achieved so much in the last two decades of mobile telecommunication in Nigeria, we still have more grounds to cover. Hence the need to put in more work collectively to achieve a wholesome digital transformation that we desire for our dear nation." ~ Tunji Alabi 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑨𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒂, 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 #infratelafrica #technology #digitalinclusion #ruraltelephony #internetaccess

A doctor uses holograms to bring himself to rural patients. Unlike a video call, patients get to speak to an image the size of the doctor like he's in the consultation room though several kilometers away from them. This will save patients the stress and costs of meeting the doctor physically. This ingenious innovation mirrors our telemedicine intervention under the Smart Rural initiatives. Our goal is to ensure rural people get quality healthcare services where they are without having to travel to the cities for the same. With technology, life's made easy. Compared to urban communities in Africa, the internet speed in rural communities is slower, often due to a lack of infrastructure. With internet speed as a major metric in digitalization, the chances of its transformative effect in rural communities are minimal. As a result, besides installing base stations in remote communities of Africa, we've partnered with NIGERIAN COMMUNICATIONS SATELLITE LIMITED (NIGCOMSAT) for a satellite opportunity for high-quality connectivity. Our Smart Wifi is the icing on the cake which ensures a one to many connections. With all these infrastructures, we believe the digital transformation of rural Africa is possible.
