  • Last weekend, Heineken Beverages International, in partnership with the city of Dar es Salaam, hosted the incredible Bata la Disemba Carnival at the Leaders Club Grounds. With over 5,000 attendees, this event was not only a celebration but also a remarkable opportunity for Tanzanians and international visitors to connect. The live music, comedy,  sports viewing, dancers, and of course the food, made the carnival the best and only place to be and create unforgettable memories. The carnival featured performances by some of Africa’s biggest stars, including DJ Neptune, Zuchu, Master KG, Chino Kidd, Linah Sanga, Johmakini, G Nako, and many more. Attendees were treated to an exciting mix of music, games, comedy, and live sports viewing that kept the atmosphere electric throughout the weekend. In addition to the entertainment, the carnival provided a boost to local vendors, highlighting Dar es Salaam’s diverse culinary offerings and giving local entrepreneurs a chance to engage with thousands of potential customers. This aligns with Heineken's broader goal of supporting the local economy and creating opportunities for growth. The three-day event culminated with a fireworks show to celebrate Tanzania’s 63rd independence celebration.

Proud to have our BlackHouse Media (BHM) ID Africa Tanzania team supporting Heineken Beverages to launch 'Bata la Disemba' - Dar es Salaam's first-ever beer carnival. Seamlessly blending entertainment, sports, and culture, the event organised in partnership with the regional government of Dar es Salaam is a celebration of Tanzania's emergence as a key player in East Africa's economy. It is estimated that 6,000-10,000 people will attend the carnival from across East Africa between 6-8 December 2024. The Heineken brand focus on togetherness and community spirit aligns perfectly with Tanzania's vibrant cultural renaissance and economic momentum. As a big fan of Heineken's brand management and marketing philosophy, I’m delighted to see how corporate brand engagement with consumers and public sector stakeholders in Africa can deliver both commercial success and community impact. Here's to Tanzania's growing influence! 🍻 🇹🇿 #AfricanBusiness #BrandManagement #Tanzania #PRLife #CulturalEconomy #CorporateCommunications

  • The night of Tuesday September 24  at Cipriani on 42nd Street, in New York City, we joined great African leaders for an evening in honour of African and diasporan visionaries in arts and culture. And it was fulfilling to listen to the words of Kofi Appenteng who leads the Africa-America Institute (AAI). The gala night paid tributes to late Dr. Hage Geingob the third president of the Republic of Namibia whose wife, former First Lady Monica Geingos gave a speech much deserving of the standing ovation she received. Performances were by Chiney Ogwumike who compered the event, as well as the musical group Sonic Sommelier, and Kwesi Amoak. And of course there was what could pass as one of the greatest speeches given by an African President - the words of his excellency H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who placed a spotlight on the "Year of Return" initiated to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the first enslaved Africans arriving in the United States. The project brought over a million people from the USA to visit Ghana. There were at least four presidents in the room, as well as many chief executives and business leaders from around the world, including H. E. Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr., President of the Republic of Liberia; H.E. Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, President of the Republic of Botswana and H.E. Dr. Nangolo Mbumba, President of the Republic of Namibia. Reeta Roy of the Mastercard Foundation received an award for Philanthropic Impact; HE President Akufo-Addo, the president of Ghana; HE Dr. Angola Mbuba the president of Namibia and HE Monica Geingob were also honoured. Guests included Ebenezer Twum Asante, Snr Vice President, Markets, MTN; Tobe Okigbo, the Chief Corporate Services Officer (CCSO) of MTN Nigeria; Ghana’s minister for foreign affairs, Shirley Botchwey, BHM founder and CEO Ayẹni Adékúnlé, and The African Leadership Institute's (ALI) Fred Swaniker. Africa-America Institute (AAI) was founded in 1953, to advance the continent's development through higher education and skills training, convening activities, and promoting greater engagement between Africa and the United States.
