Case Study Day 2 - User Research Before designing this app, I shared a short survey in foodie forums, local cuisine Facebook groups, and urban community pages. Focused on understanding users’ ordering habits, challenges with local cuisine access, and preferences. I also conducted informal interviews with urban professionals who regularly use food delivery services, local eatery owners struggling to adapt to delivery platforms and tourists seeking authentic food experiences in new cities. Here are some of the key questions I asked. ✅ How often do you order food online? ✅Do you find it easy to discover local or traditional cuisine on food delivery apps? ✅What would make you more likely to order from small, local eateries? 72% of respondents said finding authentic local cuisine on delivery apps was difficult, 65% felt fast-food chains dominated search results and recommendations and many users expressed concern about the quality and presentation of food from small vendors. On the side of the vendor, there were limited technical expertise to list menus and update inventory online, high commission rates on food delivery platforms and packaging and delivery logistics were major hurdles. Case Study For the next 10 days, I'll be taking you through the process of how I designed a food delivery app which aims at bridging the gap between food vendors and consumers. When we were given what seem like our last project Harvoxx Tech. Hub to solve a real world problem in the following areas; * Food * Transport * Education * Employment * Hospitality * Waste management I decided to choose the food industry, (you already know I'm a foodie 😊). Nigeria as a country has diverse culinary traditions and different traditional delicacies. Accessing these various food options have remained a significant challenge for many Nigerians. Most Nigerians complain of finding it difficult to locate food vendors that makes their local dishes. The case study showcases the development of a revolutionary food delivery app which has been designed to connect consumers with their favorite meals effortlessly. Through a user-centric approach, I'll guide you through my design journey.
