PWDs face multiple forms of violence, including discrimination, and neglect. Limited support systems, psychological impact, and barriers to reporting and justice further exacerbate the effects of GBV on PWDs. These barriers reinforce discrimination and inequality, hindering their rights and opportunities. With support from Ford Foundation, we proudly present our documentary on the intersection of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and the lives of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). This documentary aims to bring attention to their struggles as well as call to actions as to what we can collectively do to take actions against abuse of human rights. Join us on a profound journey as we delve into the plights of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and the devastating impact of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) on their lives. Let's raise awareness, inspire empathy, and pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future. We kicked off activities on our project supported by African Women's Development Fund (AWDF) on the Prevention of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) against women and girls with a focus on sexual violence prevention against women with disabilities in Ogun State. We held a meeting with the Project Working Group for the project. The meeting provided a valuable platform for CEWHIN to engage with the group in meaningful dialogue, sharing insights and discussing key aspects of the project’s implementation and impact. At CEWHIN, we believe in the power of collaboration to drive change, build safer communities, and create a more equitable society for all. #GenderEquality #StopViolenceAgainstWomen #BreakTheSilence #WomensRights #GirlsRights #CommunityAction #AWDF #CEWHIN #OgunState #NoToGBV #TogetherWeCan #SafeSpaces #empowercommunities

To conclude activities for the #16DaysOfActivism, we partnered with ECOCENTRE Osogbo to host a community sensitization event, bringing together secondary school students, organizations, CSO representatives, and community members. The event featured powerful dramas by students, portraying the dangers of Violence Against Women and Girls #VAWG and the role of religious leaders in addressing it. His Royal Majesty Oba Olubiyi Adesola Windapo, Alara of Ara Kingdom also emphasized the importance of community action and called on traditional rulers to take a stand against all forms of violence against women and girls. Together, we are fostering a united front to end #VAWG and build a safer, more inclusive society. #EndGBV #16Days #CommunityAction #ECOCENTRE #16daysofactivism

This stakeholder roundtable was part of our activities for the 16 Days of Activism, supported by the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women(UNTF) to strengthen the VAWG response system in Osun State!💪 We’re also deeply grateful to the Osun State Government—especially the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Women, Children, and Social Affairs and Lagos DSVA for their commitment to tackling violence against women and girls through collaboration. This stakeholder meeting and peer-learning session, where we facilitated knowledge exchange between Lagos State DSVA and Osun State actors, marks the beginning of many more impactful peer-learning activities. During the session, the Lagos State DSVA shared: 1️⃣ How the DSVA was built through collaboration—emphasizing partnerships with government agencies, civil society organizations, and community stakeholders to establish an effective, sustainable response to GBV. 2️⃣ Strategies for effective multi-sectoral coordination to strengthen GBV response efforts. 3️⃣ Community engagement approaches to raise awareness and prevent GBV at the grassroots level. Together, we are building a future where women and girls are safer and stronger. Here’s to more collaboration, learning, and progress! #16DaysofActivism #UNTF #OsunState #PeerLearning #CEWHIN #LagosDSVA #EndGBV

As we round off the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, let’s not forget that everyone deserves to live a life free from violence and discrimination. But for many, especially women and girls, this is still not a reality. Human rights aren’t just words—they’re the foundation of dignity, equality, and freedom. Yet, millions face injustice every day. It’s up to us to speak up, take action, and create a world where everyone’s rights are respected. 💡 What you can do today: ✔️ Learn about human rights and how they impact your community. ✔️ Stand up against gender-based violence. ✔️ Support survivors and advocate for justice. Together, we can make human rights a reality for ALL. 💪 #InternationalHumanRightsDay #16DaysOfActivism #EndGBV #HumanRightsForAll #DignityFreedomJustice

Say No to Femicide and Rape! Femicide and rape are not just crimes; they are the ultimate acts of violence that rob women of their dignity, freedom, and lives. Around the world, countless women live in fear, silenced by a culture that too often normalizes their suffering. But silence is no longer an option. Every life lost to femicide is a glaring reminder of the need for justice. Every survivor of rape carries a story that demands our collective action. This is not just a women’s issue—it’s a human rights issue. We say no to femicide. No to rape. No to a society that turns a blind eye to violence. This 16 Days of Activism, let us commit to ending this cycle of harm. Speak out. Stand with survivors. Challenge harmful norms. Advocate for stronger laws and better protections. Together, we can create a world where women live without fear. Say no today, and every day. For justice. For equality. For all women. 16 Days of Activism: Day 10✅ #SayNoToFemicide #EndRapeCulture #16DaysOfActivism #StopGenderBasedViolence #HumanRights #ProtectWomen #SpeakOut #JusticeForWomen #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #togetherwecan

16 Days of Activism: Day 9✅ Today, on the Day of Persons with Disabilities, let’s take a moment to reflect on the challenges many face every day. Did you know people with disabilities are up to 3 times more likely to experience gender-based violence? Isolation, depending on others, and limited support make them more vulnerable. But we can change that. By raising awareness, pushing for accessible spaces, and supporting survivors, we can make a real difference. Let’s stand together for safety, equality, and inclusion. Everyone deserves to feel safe and valued. #DisabilityRights #BreakTheSilence #InclusionForAll
