Airtel Africa is committed to driving transformative change across the continent, starting with our children. This dedication aligns with our core company objectives and African Union's vision of achieving the 'Africa We Want'. Today, as we mark #WorldChildrensDay, we reflect on the progress we've made in addressing the critical changes needed to improve education systems for children across the continent in partnership with UNICEF. In 2021, we launched this partnership as part of a $57 million commitment to support digital education and help bridge the digital divide for vulnerable children in remote communities, in collaboration with African governments. This partnership now in its third year has connected over 1,200 schools to the internet, trained 17,000 teachers to use digital tools, and reached more than 1 million students with high-quality digital education resources across 13 African countries. We are proud of the milestones we've attained thus far in equipping African children with essential digital tools for a brighter future. And as we acknowledge that more needs to be done, we commit to do more in the coming years to achieve the transformation of Africa's education and empower the continent's future leaders. #AirtelAfrica #WorldChildrensDay #DigitalEducation

On Tuesday, we reviewed the progress of our ongoing work with UNICEF Generation Unlimited as we hosted the 2024 GenU 9JA Steering Committee meeting at our Banana Island Lagos headquarters. It's exciting to see how far we have collectively come in empowering Nigerian youth through digital learning, upskilling, and job opportunities. Our partnership with UNICEF is focused on connecting schools to the internet and ensuring open access to learning platforms such as Yoma and the Nigeria Learning Passport (NLP). We're dedicated to have helped 20 million young Nigerians acquire skills, get employed, and start their own businesses by 2030. While we say a huge thank you to UNICEF for sharing this grand vision with us, we extend our congratulations to the YPATs (Young People’s Action Teams) for inspiring us all with their courage, vision, and creativity. #GenU9JA #ReimagineEducation #AirtelAfrica Carl Cruz Airtel Africa Celine Lafoucriere 'Femi(Ade) Adeniran, MBA,PMP,Scrum Master(CSM) Femi Oshinlaja Ochuko E. We are tremendously pleased to graduate the first cohort of the Airtel Nigeria Open Talent Economy (OTE) program. The OTE is a groundbreaking initiative by Airtel Nigeria to actively prepare undergraduates for the demands of various professions in the 21st century. This first cohort included 14 Nigerian undergraduates from the Pan Atlantic University, Lead City University, Federal University of Technology Akure, Oduduwa University, and the University of California. Over the course of 120 days, these interns received field training and the opportunity to contribute to live projects, gaining real business-world experience. Codenamed "Airternship", the OTE is a two-way engagement mechanism by which, as an organization, we also stay in touch with the dreams and aspirations of the youth population, so we can support their dreams. As always, our mission is to give young talents a reason to imagine. #AirtelNigeria #Airternship #YoungTalent #Innovation Airtel Africa Carl Cruz 'Femi(Ade) Adeniran, MBA,PMP,Scrum Master(CSM) Adebimpe Ayo-Elias (FCIPM) Sam Adeoye Olubusola Basanya Theodora Chukwuma GPHRi, ACIPM
