2024 was incredibly exciting for watchTowr 🚀 As we gear up at watchTowr for an even bigger 2025, I’ve taken some time to reflect on the wild ride that 2024 was. From industry-leading research to key partnerships and an ever-growing team, I've made a (likely poor) attempt at highlighting a few of the already-public things that made 2024 incredible. January – watchTowr Europe was born, with Owen E. and Jake Knott kicking things off in the UK. At the same time, watchTowr Labs enabled the industry and government entities with a way to safely identify vulnerable Ivanti SSLVPN deployments (CVE-2023-46805 & CVE-2024-21887) during widespread exploitation. February – The Ivanti saga continued, with watchTowr Labs flagging an additional Ivanti SSLVPN zero-day (now known as CVE-2024-22024) while proactively alerting organisations ahead of patches - leading some to decide to turn systems off entirely. March – We publicly announced our partnership with PwC - I'm incredibly grateful for the continued support and partnership with Kok Tin Gan, Jenius Shieh and Daryl Li. April – watchTowr Labs was the first again to enable industry with analysis of an in-the-wild exploited vulnerability in Palo Alto Networks SSLVPNs. We also announced our technology partnership with JupiterOne, aligning capabilities to empower clients with a true end-to-end Exposure Management capability. May – From reproducing Check Point SSLVPN zero-days used by APT groups, to publishing our QNAP research, watchTowr Labs continued to enable the industry with proactive analysis. June – We partnered with M.Tech to deepen our presence in APAC and NZ, and published our private analysis of critical vulnerabilities in Progress' MOVEit Transfer. September – We released our .MOBI research to the world, demonstrating how watchTowr Labs had obtained the ability to issue legitimate TLS/SSL certificates for any .MOBI domain by buying a $20 domain. This research led to Google calling for the removal of WHOIS as a verification mechanism in the CAB Forum, and this motion has now passed. October – We raised $19M USD in Series A funding led by Peak XV Partners and welcomed Chris Merritt to our board. Meanwhile, Elvina Liow was promoted to VP of APAC, and we announced our partnership with Orange Business. November - A continuation of our work in October around FortiJump and more, with Palo Alto Network SSLVPN and further Fortinet vulnerabilities disclosed and analyzed. December – We welcomed Gregory Lingris to the watchTowr Team, joining us as Global VP of Commercial, and Alexander M. as Sales Director for watchTowr US. As we charge into 2025, I couldn’t be prouder of the watchTowr team and everyone who has supported us on this journey. Let's go 🚀

Welcome onboard Gregory Lingris! thrilled to be working together again, and equally excited for the inevitable mayhem that is going to ensue on this journey. Let's go 🚀
I have joined the watchTowr team as Global VP Commercial 🚀 It was an easy decision after continuously hearing from clients, colleagues and friends (and from Benjamin Harris of course) how amazing they are, so I’m thrilled to be joining a number of ex colleagues to build this rocket ship to take on the next stages of growth as we expand globally. Many of you will be familiar with the research the team releases (labs.watchtowr.com) but importantly, they are renowned for their contribution to the industry and enabling organisations to rapidly respond to emerging threats. Looking forward to working with old clients and new across our NYC, EU and APAC teams. 🚀 🤝 #watchtowr #asm #cybersecurity #externalattacksurfacemanagement

🤩 WOW what a week for watchTowr EU! BlackHat , Security BSides London, Christmas parties... The feedback and response to what we're doing has been overwhelmingly positive, so I just want to say a huge thank you to everybody who came out to talk with us, and showed their support this past week 🙏 It's been awesome catching up with old friends, meeting new ones, and having uncountable conversations about our research, ASM, preventing breaches and doing security properly. The personal highlight for me though, is seeing just how far our EU contingent has come this year. From scratch in January, to sitting round a dinner table in December with a big group of, quite frankly the coolest, most talented individuals I've ever had the pleasure to work with... (and only some there against their will!) 🚀 what a week? what a YEAR! Come at me 2025 🚀 Benjamin Harris Jake Knott Emma Whitford Alexander M. After a great week with the watchTowr team at BlackHat EU and Security BSides London, I'm on the way back to Singapore! 🇸🇬🚀 Injecting our personality into a lot of watchTowr branding is one of my favourite pastimes and our branding at BlackHat this year was absolutely no different 😄 😰 True to form - mid-BlackHat - we saw Cleo MFT vulnerabilities exploited in the wild, once again throwing the concept of remediation SLAs for known vulnerabilities out of the window. watchTowr Labs sprung into action, analysing, reproducing, and deploying mechanisms for clients to determine if they were affected — as we do every single day. As always, it's never over in one episode.. speak soon... Owen E. Emma Whitford Caroline Perry Alexander M. Kane Butler
