  • How is Philanthropic capital an important 4th P to Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs)? At the Singapore Pavilion during COP29 Azerbaijan last month, Li Lang Heng, Temasek Foundation’s Head of Climate & Liveability, shared insights on the transformative potential of philanthropic capital. It can be a first mover to de-risk, catalyse change, and introduce sustainable practices that can benefit the Planet and People. One such innovation in action is the Neorice project. It can drive cost savings, cut GHG emissions in rice cultivation, and scale beyond its pilot. This is how catalytic philanthropy plays a critical role in accelerating sustainable solutions that benefit communities and the environment for lasting impact. ✨ #COP29 #ClimateAction #Sustainability #PeoplePlanetProsperity

  • Global partnerships are key for us to be ahead of viruses that can cause pandemics, to innovate and safeguard our future. "The time to prepare ourselves is now - to build surveillance, early detection and response capabilities," said Dr Lee Fook Kay, Head, Pandemic Preparedness, Temasek Foundation. He was attending forums catalysed by Temasek Foundation, like the A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research Infectious Diseases Labs and Institut Pasteur Joint Forum and Asia-Pacific Congress of Medical Virology #apcmv2024 last month. Forums like these are hubs for connecting researchers, policymakers, and clinicians, strengthening networks and driving collaboration. Together, we are building a dynamic community that shares knowledge, data, and resources to drive long-term impact and tackle global health threats.

  • Temasek Foundation and Institute of Mental Health are launching the BRAVE study to better understand the mental health and neuro-development of children aged 8-18. The key focus includes: screening for conditions like autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety and depression; tracking participants for up to 10 years; and providing diagnosis and referrals if needed. Mr Kee Kirk Chuen, Head of Health & Well-being (left in photo, discussing the study with IMH researchers Dr Lim Choon Guan (centre) and Dr Goh Tze Jui), shared: "What attracted us to the study were the insights into the social, cultural and even economic factors that could protect them or put them at risk." "These are valuable insights that we need to know before we can say what is the best support we can get to the children and youth, because mental health is a very complex problem," he added. Around 40,000 households will be invited to join! More info is at www.BRAVE.sg.

  • We launched the inaugural TF STAR event last Saturday (16 Nov), designed to empower our existing scholarship and study award recipients to become active contributors to society. Since 2011, we have supported over 2,400 students through 13 scholarships and study awards, committing over $3 million annually as of this year in nurturing talent from all backgrounds.   The TF STAR event provided participants with an opportunity to explore key societal issues such as sustainability, heritage, and inclusivity through half-day learning journeys. They then developed innovative ideas for community projects, with six teams receiving seed funding and mentorship to bring their projects to life. This is just the beginning. TF is committed to not only helping students thrive academically but also grow as leaders who will drive meaningful change. We are excited to see the change our next generation of leaders will bring! 🌟

  • Today is World Prematurity Day. Premature births can be a traumatic experience for families. Every help helps. Music therapy has been shown to support the development, healing, and overall well-being of premature babies. It also helps promote parent-child bonding. We're proud that the Temasek Foundation Music, Baby and Me programme, which started in 2022 in collaboration with KK Women's and Children's Hospital, has helped more than 100 premature babies in Singapore. Let's celebrate our little miracles together!

At Temasek Foundation, we are honoured to have supported the journey of so many talented central bankers and financial regulators across Asia over the past 20 years together with Wealth Management Institute (WMI). The launch of the Asia Central Bankers and Regulators Alumni Network (ACR Network) represents an exciting next step, promoting collaboration, unity, and forward-thinking practices. We look forward to seeing this network thrive and make a lasting impact to the financial landscape in the region.

Over the past 20 years, WMI has collaborated closely with Temasek Foundation to bring together representatives from Asia’s central banks and regulatory agencies, fostering shared learning, networking, and collaboration. Thanks to Temasek Foundation’s scholarships for Asian central bankers and financial regulators, WMI has had the privilege of training over 400 scholars from 14 countries and 30 government agencies, spanning a range of programmes from Master’s degrees to specialised courses, such as the Advanced Diploma in Finance & Markets for Policymakers. To mark this 20th-year milestone, we are thrilled to announce the launch of the Asia Central Bankers and Regulators Alumni Network (ACR Network), supported by Temasek Foundation. The ACR Network aims to promote greater unity, encourage forward-thinking collaboration, and facilitate the sharing of best practices to future-proof the region’s financial sector and anticipate emerging risks. We look forward to welcoming our alumni to upcoming programmes and events, celebrating their progress, and seeing them inspire others on this journey of continuous learning and leadership.
