Record solar and wind power drive European electricity generation. A recent report from Montel Analytics highlights record-breaking renewable energy generation in Europe during the third quarter of 2024. Solar power output reached an unprecedented 94 TWh, a 15% increase from the same period last year, with Germany, Italy, and Spain as the top contributors. Wind energy also performed strongly, generating 104.7 TWh, marking the highest output for a third quarter and the second-highest overall. The surge in renewable energy has contributed to more instances of day-ahead electricity prices falling to zero or below, especially in Finland, Sweden, Germany, and the Netherlands. Renewable energy sources, particularly solar and wind power, have reached record levels in Europe during the third quarter of 2024. This surge in clean energy generation has led to lower electricity prices in several European countries. https://lnkd.in/ePESEs98 #solar #wind #europeenergy #greennews
