December 5 was Sompo Golf Day for 14 Sompo Asia Pacific (APAC) colleagues and 26 brokers and partners at the Singapore Island Country Club. The weather couldn't have been lovelier with light morning breeze and pleasant cloudy sky, especially when it had been raining almost every day prior. Teeing off at 7:30am, the 10 teams pitted against one another in a friendly social Texas Scramble game, ending with a tie in 2 winning teams, a Longest Drive winner, and a Closest to the Pin winner. With 55 colleagues representing the 3 Singapore-based offices - Sompo Asia Pacific (APAC), Sompo Insurance Singapore (SIS) and SompoRe APAC - this was the first time a corporate running team was sent to participate in the prestigious Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon. This year, the annual event attracted close to 55,000 runners from all over the world to participate in the Kids, 5km, 10km, Half Marathon (21km, and Full Marathon (42km) races from November 29 to December 1. 26 colleagues took part in the 5km race, 23 in the 10km race, and 6 in the Half Marathon. Our APAC CHRO, Lee Murphy was invited to speak at the #WTWSGBenefitsForum on August 27.
