Major (MAJ) Tan Yiwen and MAJ Brian Koh attended the Pendidikan Regular SESKOAD T.A. 2024 (Command and Staff Course of the Indonesian Army) held in Bandung, Indonesia from 19 Feb to 28 Nov 24. At the end of the course, MAJ Tan received the Pelajar Terbaik Pasis Negara Sahabat (Best International Student) and Tesis Terbaik Pasis Negara Sahabat (Best Thesis by an International Student) awards, while MAJ Koh received the Pelajar Berprestasi Pasis Negara Sahabat (Distinguished International Student) award. The Indonesian Army's Command and Staff Course (TNI-AD SESKOAD) is a rigorous military education programme designed to train officers in strategic and operational planning, leadership, and decision-making, to prepare them to hold higher command appointments within the Indonesian Army. This week, we speak to Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Ng Tze Peng to learn more about his Army career, including his current appointment as Head of Control of Operations and Readiness (CORE) in the General Staff (Operations). Recently, our Chief of Defence Force (CDF), Vice Admiral (VADM) Aaron Beng and soldiers from the 10th Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence, Battalion (10 C4I Bn) visited seniors residing in Jalan Kukoh and Chin Swee. They provided cleaning and painting services to spruce up the seniors' homes, and at the same time, engaged with them in meaningful conversations. The event was organised by the NSFs from 10 C4I Bn, in collaboration with the Central Singapore Community Development Council - CDC under the Silver Homes programme. This activity allowed our soldiers to make a positive impact on the lives of our seniors! 10 C4I Bn was also the recipient of this year’s CDF National Education (NE) Excellence Award. This award is presented to SAF units to recognise the efforts made to deepen their people's sense of belonging and commitment to Singapore. #ReadyDecisiveRespected #AnythingButRegular #WeAreOneWolves

Our Singapore Army and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Pacific Marines U.S. Marine Corps successfully concluded the annual bilateral Exercise Valiant Mark (XVM), held in Singapore from 9 to 13 December 2024. Over the 5-day exercise, 70 personnel from the SAF’s Headquarters Singapore Guards, 7th Singapore Infantry Brigade (7 SIB) and 3rd Battalion, Singapore Guards (3 Gds), and 50 personnel from the Marine Rotational Force – Southeast Asia participated in professional exchanges on topics of mutual interests. XVM 2024 enhanced the cooperation and professionalism of both armed forces and fostered strong rapport and camaraderie among their personnel. #ReadyDecisiveRespected #AnythingButRegular #ReadyToStrike #ValiantMark #ValiantMark24

Second Sergeant (2SG) Ryan Gerard D’Silva is a Platoon Sergeant in the 9th Battalion Singapore Infantry Regiment (9 SIR). Working closely with his Platoon Commander, 2SG D’Silva ensures that his soldiers are well equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out security operations. 2SG D’Silva shared, “We are proud to play a part in maintaining our homeland security. Our Army and the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) successfully completed conducted the 27th edition of Exercise Maju Bersama (XMB) which ran from 5 to 11 December 2024. About 250 personnel from the Headquarters 8th Singapore Armoured Brigade, 41st Battalion, Singapore Armoured Regiment (41 SAR), and the 3rd Battalion of the RBLF participated in the bilateral exercise. This year’s exercise comprised professional exchanges, such as cross-sharing of weapon systems and company-level urban operational drills, as well as live-firing training at the Multi-Misson Range Complex. The exercise culminated in a joint assault by both Armies on an urban objective at the Murai Urban Training Facility. The XMB series allows both Armies to continually foster mutual understanding and enhance interoperability through professional interactions. 57 participants took part in the 5th edition of the Women’s Boot Camp (WBC) held at Maju Camp from 7 to 8 December 2024.
