The Westlake Tropical Modern is KAPA’s newest project under construction and is conceptualised by KAPA’s three Co-Founders. The project features a pair of thematic semi-detached homes with luxurious build and finish. The 🌺 Tembusu garden-themed house has a bespoke cross-disciplinary design collaboration with renowned Hong Kong contemporary fine jewellery designer and artist, Dickson Yewn who curated the gardenscape. The Caspian House is a 🌊water-themed house that's enveloped by a beautiful L-shaped pool connecting to the jacuzzi, with a majestic cascading waterfall flowing into the pool as a therapeutic water feature. Chief Architect and Co-Founder Jing Zhi Kee was inspired to create an immersive, natural sanctuary by the property's proximity to MacRitchie Reservoir. As a result, he has created unique elements such as generous outdoor lifestyle areas that include a spacious garden and a sizeable pool for the homeowner to enjoy the lovely outdoors that connect seamlessly with the internal spaces. The home's double volume, full-height glass living and dining halls and sculptural spiral staircase are design elements that create a sense of grandeur upon arrival. Stay tuned for more information on the Westlake Tropical Modern development. https://kapadesign.co #sgproperty #architecture #interiordesign #gardendesign #homedesign #luxuryhomes #luxe

🌿 Oku House: Embracing Biophilic Design for a Harmonious Living Experience 🌿 by FREIGHT ARCHITECTS Connecting indoor and outdoor spaces creates continuity and capitalizes on the mental, physical, and emotional health benefits of biophilic design. Seamless transitions, facilitated by large windows and open-plan layouts, blur the boundaries between interior and exterior, ensuring a harmonious flow throughout the home. This integration enhances aesthetic appeal and fosters a seamless living experience that connects occupants with nature. Natural light streaming through a beautiful void and skylight brightens the heart of your home, enhancing visual appeal and making the space feel more inviting, lively, and vibrant. Utilizing natural light to grow indoor plants reduces the need for artificial lighting, saving on energy costs, while fresh plants bring in fresh air, creating a happier, healthier lifestyle. #Architecture #InteriorDesign #BiophilicDesign #SustainableLiving #DesignInspiration

These heritage properties continue to stay relevant today through adaptive reuse, recreation, and rejuvenation in both appearance and interior design. 🏡 Architectural Significance - A Visual Journey Through Time Singapore's shophouses are categorized into six distinct architectural types, each reflecting the trends of its era. Elevate the practicality & beauty of your 🏘 home with a double-skin facade. House at Chuan by FREIGHT ARCHITECTS. The 'skin' of the building is what's known as a facade; the most 👀 captivating feature, creating the first impression from afar. This exterior layer not only protects the structure from weather elements but also elevates the aesthetic appeal of your home. The facade is the eye-catching element that intrigues passers-by. The double-skin facade consists of two layers of glass or other materials separated by a space, typically several feet wide. Under the unrelenting Singapore sun, the double-skin facade acts as a shade, filtering out the harsh heat while allowing natural light to enter the space. It also promotes natural ventilation and air renewal— transforming your home into the refreshing sanctuary you deserve. An expert's touch✨ in design and construction ensures the optimum effect of the double-skin facade. Get in touch with our team today at hello@kapadesign.co to see how a double-skin facade might work on your property. #Facade #Architecture #luxuryhome #homefacade #homedesign

Knowing your home bar's concept and what you want to serve is the first crucial step! 2️⃣ Assess Demand and Hosting Capacity: Determine the maximum number of guests you plan to host at aby given time, as this will dictate the size and design of your bar setup. 3️⃣ Evaluate Space and Infrastructure Needs: Consider the available space and necessary infrastructure, including chillers, ice machines, and plumbing, to ensure your bar is functional and efficient. Pay special attention to access to a floor drain nearby, and remember to dedicate a space to rinse tins and mixing glasses between drinks. Explore the realm of 🇮🇹 Italian-born wine enthusiast Mario Zocca, the esteemed owner of Wine List Asia Pte Ltd, a premier importer of exclusive #wines.✨ Hailing from Verona, Mario is passionate about sharing his expertise in Italian wines. In our latest collaboration, Mario shares insights on four crucial factors for designing and storing your home wine cellar.🍷 🍷 Cold Room and Carpentry: Achieving optimal wine storage requires a well-built cold room with six insulated walls and an industrial cold compressor to maintain a stable 12°C. Proper insulation prevents condensation, maintaining the ideal environment. While some customers prefer basic off-the-shelf racking, bespoke designs can also be accomplished for a more luxurious finish. 🍷 Climate Controls & Ventilation: Maintaining temperatures between 55-65°F and humidity levels between 45-70% preserves flavours and facilitates ideal ageing. Mechanical units are discreetly installed, ensuring seamless integration into custom millwork. 🍷 Organise Your Wine: Design your layout like a well-organized bookcase, categorising by wine type, region, grape varietals, or even by year. Tailor the organisation to suit your collection, ensuring easy access and a seamless experience. 🍷 Glass Door: A hallmark of modern wine cellars, offering a contemporary aesthetic while showcasing your collection. The door should be insulated, double-paned, and airtight to maintain the cellar's climate and prevent sweating and fogging. When executed properly, a glass door entrance adds a sophisticated touch to a timeless tradition. Mario highlights the value of owning a #winecellar, providing a perfect environment for ageing and elegant entertaining. ✨ Ready to create your dream cellar?✨ #homebar #designinspo #InteriorDesign #architecture #landedproperty

Step into the Pyrite House, a 💎 gem of a property crafted by our talented Design Associate, FREIGHT ARCHITECTS! With its design incorporating the key features of pyrite crystals, characterised by their intersecting facades, the house is one with interesting angles at all corners, becoming a vision at every turn. The Pyrite House embodies separation and continuity with three solid prisms wedged into a central glass block, creating an interesting narrative throughout the space. These three prisms are slanted and staggered, with the gaps between the prisms forming corridors and atrium spaces. The interplay of folded tips and slits allows natural light to paint fascinating patterns throughout, while flexible living areas effortlessly transition from cozy nooks to a sprawling communal haven. The living, dining and kitchen areas can be closed off to form individual spaces, but once connected, they link with the atrium to open up and form an expansive, communal space. Truly an intriguing design that's as captivating as it is functional. The man behind restaurant Gattopardo Singapore, Executive Chef Giovanni Mannino, merges a unique palette of Sicilian and Italian flavors, infusing each dish with artistic finesse and a commitment to sustainability. Here's his TRIO of MUST-HAVES for a streamlined #homekitchen. 1. Multi-functional & Versatile Island Countertops Today's kitchens are versatile spaces, requiring multi-functional island countertops that serve as command centers for meal prep, dining, storage and socializing. With built-in appliances like sinks or stovetops, they cater to various tasks seamlessly. 2. Easy-to clean Surface & Flexible Storage Kitchen requires durable, easy-to-clean surfaces like countertops, floors, and backsplashes due to inevitable spills and splatters. Ample storage options, including adjustable shelving, keep everything organized, while resilient ceramic tiles or budget-friendly luxury vinyl flooring provide practical solutions. 3. Balanced Lighting & Electrical Outlets: Achieving a balance between lighting and electrical outlets is key for a functional yet inviting kitchen. Lighting sets the mood and enhances safety, while ample outlets power up appliances and gadgets, ensuring efficiency in daily tasks. Ideally, a kitchen should feature both adequate lighting and plentiful electrical outlets to facilitate seamless cooking, entertaining, and relaxation, resulting in a space that is both practical and inviting.
