🌟 PayPal's International Volunteer Day in December brought joy to 70 seniors through their generous support, in collaboration with Anglican Cluster Operator (PEACE-Connect) and KampungKakis! As part of their efforts, PayPal packed and delivered goodie bags filled with essential items, and 30 staff members joined us for lunch, personally gifting the bags and sharing meaningful moments with the seniors. We are deeply grateful to PayPal for their commitment to helping combat senior isolation. 💖

About us
KampungKakis is a neighbourhood buddy system aimed at supporting isolated and frail seniors. At the core of our operations, we match volunteers to seniors-in-need based on proximity, spoken languages and assistance types. We provide a safe and inclusive platform for longer-term friendships to blossom between seniors and their neighbour volunteers, who help by befriending the seniors and becoming their pillar of support. We also provide our low-income seniors with personalized grocery packs, medical escort services, and resources from partner organizations. A ground-up initiative founded during the Covid-19 crisis in Singapore, KampungKakis provided psychosocial support to over 500 isolated/frail seniors who were even more vulnerable, isolated and confused at the height of the pandemic. Today, KampungKakis is a registered non-profit with the same goal - to reduce social isolation amongst seniors. A problem that was exacerbated by the pandemic, but have been deep-rooted in Singapore. Ultimately, we aim to alleviate senior isolation in Singapore by reigniting the kampung spirit of neigbour-helping-neighbours.

Creating Connections, One Outing at a Time. 🌿🌸 Last Friday, our seniors had a wonderful day at Gardens by the Bay, exploring the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest alongside volunteers from GIC! But beyond the stunning sights, this outing was about something deeper — meaningful conversations and genuine connections. 💬🫂 For many of our seniors, these experiences are rare. Outings like this not only help them step out of isolation but also build social bonds and boost their overall well-being.
