Last month, we had the pleasure of hosting over 30 students from BOON LAY SECONDARY SCHOOL, the School of Science and Technology, Singapore, and River Valley High School for a 3-day work experience programme at HMGICS. The students explored various aspects of our operations, including R&D, manufacturing, and sales. We were impressed by their fresh ideas for improving customer experiences, which showcased both creativity and strategic thinking. This initiative will be held annually as part of our commitment to supporting youth and shaping the next generation of innovators. By collaborating with schools, we aim to nurture young talent by providing learning opportunities that bridge the gap between theoretical education and real-world applications. We’d like to thank the students and staff for their participation and efforts, which were key to making this initiative a success! #HyundaiInnovationSG #HMGICS #HyundaiSingapore #HyundaiSG #Hyundai #WorkExperience #FutureLeaders

Last month, we hosted Tech BotChallenge II, the fourth instalment of our annual hackathon series organised by CRADLE and HMGICS. We were excited to welcome students from GESS - German European School Singapore and Stamford American International School, Singapore, alongside participants from UWC South East Asia (UWCSEA) Dover and East campuses in Singapore. The challenge tested middle and high school students to navigate obstacle courses using rover robots. Participants programmed their rovers to tackle a tricky track filled with obstacles, demonstrating their creativity and problem-solving skills. It may have looked easy, but the students showed just how much determination and teamwork were needed to succeed. At HMGICS, we’re committed to empowering young minds and investing in the future of innovation here in Singapore. Watching the students in action reinforced our belief that the future is in good hands. A huge thank you to all the students, teachers, and schools for making the day a success. Congratulations to team UWCSEA East on your well-deserved win! We look forward to seeing where your innovation takes you next and welcoming you back for your work experience programmes with us next year. #HyundaiInnovationSG #HMGICS #HyundaiSingapore #HyundaiSG #Hyundai #SchoolHackathon #FutureLeaders

Ever wondered what it’s like to road trip across Southeast Asia in an EV? Min Won Byun, Head of Business Cooperation at HMGICS, recently drove the Hyundai IONIQ 5 from Singapore to Phuket and back — a 3,000km journey that showcased the car’s capabilities and the growing EV infrastructure in the region. From smooth highways to mountainous terrains, the IONIQ 5 excelled with its long-range performance, rapid charging, and advanced features like Smart Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist. Charging was quick too, with stops averaging less than 20 minutes to power up from 60% to 95% at high-power stations. The journey was made possible thanks to a unified charging network across Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, developed with the support of partners like Shell and Charge+. These advancements are making long-distance EV travel across the region more accessible and sustainable. “The Hyundai IONIQ 5 demonstrated how far EV travel has come. Its efficiency and the expanding EV network in Southeast Asia made the trip seamless and enjoyable,” shared Min Won. #IONIQ5 #EV #HyundaiInnovationSG #HMGICS #HyundaiSingapore #HyundaiSG #Hyundai #RoadTrip
