Helping CEOs and investors build legendary companies, change the world, and live an extraordinary life 🦄 Co-Founder @ Goldzone 🇸🇬

Apple doesn't "do sales" they became the world's most valuable company by doing the opposite. You can generate sales like Apple with a 180-degree switch. "Doing sales" is a mindset. Let's break it down. Many coaches, consultants, content creators, business owners, directors, and professionals resist "doing sales." As a result, their income goes up and down like a roller coaster, and they experience a cash-flow feast and famine. When this becomes more painful than "doing sales," they force themselves to "grin and bear it" and go talk to people. → They think: sell, sell, sell! → Clients think: run away, run away! They see sales as hard work, with many rejections and little to no return, which creates performance anxiety and fear of rejection. You can see it on their faces. Here's the thing: → Sales isn't an activity; it's a result. For example, you go to the store to buy tissue paper, select one, go to the counter, give them money, walk out with tissues, and the vendor has a sale. The sale is a transaction! The "doing sales mindset" is where you fixate on transactions! Is it any wonder people reject you? Over my career, I've been rejected so many times I lost count until I realized I was doing it wrong. I was focusing on: → Myself and my needs. → The money I would get; the sale. This focus had me being repulsive because it was all about me. I forced myself to go out and meet people to get money! The rejection stopped when I switched my focus to other people and their needs! I learned the hard way that no one is interested in me. Think of your last few conversations and what made the other person light up. It wasn't you or what you said. It was when you asked about them, and they talked about themselves. Let's go back to Apple. How do they focus on their customers? → They use marketing to create desire and educate their customers. → Then they deliver a user and buying experience that's frictionless. You walk into the store, hand them money, and walk out with more than you planned for! I've worked with thousands of businesses and people to switch their "doing sales" mindset and focus on their clients and needs. Here's the replacement three-part mindset: → Sales is a result, not an activity. → Sales are about helping people get what they want. → The more people you help, the more sales you get. How about you? - - - Thanks for reading! 🍀 I'm Harrison, Co-Founder of Goldzone Leadership Center. I share stories about leadership, business, and winning the game of life. Understanding my ego helps me fast-track my leadership. Ego often gets a bad rep. Some people say it's no good, others say it's good. A lack of understanding ego is costly. Here are some signs we are being run by ego without realizing it: → Faux humility. → Fear of failure. → Living in denial. → Chronic negativity. → Endless comparisons. → Compromising values for money. → Being highly reactive and sensitive. → Being overly judgmental and critical. → Feeling powerless in decision-making. → People who behave like they know it all. → Constantly worrying about others' opinions. → Struggling to give ourselves what we truly want. → Prioritizing appearance and materialism above all. → Overachieving with little fulfillment despite success. → Always feeling “not enough,” no matter the achievement. → Driven by the need to have positions, status, titles and certifications to prove oneself. What I learned about ego: Ego is neither good nor bad. It has it's good purpose. There are two sides to it: 1. Ego drives us to pursue success, push ourselves, and achieve our goals. Without ego, I have no motivation. 2. To have true humility and growth, I need to let go of my ego to admit what I don't know and to be willing to follow others. The journey of understanding how my ego drives me helps me: → Being more present and becoming a better listener. → Let go of what I think I knew that don't serve and relearn what I need to get to where I want to be. → Resolve my people's challenges that led to my various leadership failures over the years. → See many blind spots that fast-track my ability to overcome personal and professional challenges. → Give myself more over the years without being trapped by materialism while being ok to have it or not. → Develop true courage and confidence without needing to prove myself while being more effective in my ability to influence and get things done. How about you? Do you know how ego has helped you and/or got in the way of your full potential? --------------------- Thanks for reading! 📌 I am Victoria, and I'm CEO of the Goldzone Group. I was rejected by Singapore Airlines. When I was 20 year old, joining SIA as Singapore girl (cabin crew) was many girls' dream job. For obvious reasons: → Travel around the world for "free". → Wear the beautiful iconic Sarong Kebaya uniform. → Enjoy a glamorous lifestyle. → Earn a decent income (especially for a diploma holder). I failed one out of two official job interviews my whole life. Over the years, many people assumed I worked for SIA, maybe because of my height or appearance. The reality was out of the five stages of interview, I couldn't get past my first round. Here's why: → Looks alone was not enough. → My lack of confidence showed up during the interview. → My communication skills were poor. → I didn't have the aptitude to show I was ready for the job. As I looked back at my experience, I am glad that I gave myself a chance to go for the interview. Here's the irony: As the saying goes, one door closes another open. I joined AIA instead of SIA. 😆 It turned out to be better, here’s why: → I earned far more in AIA than I would have as cabin crew in my 20s. → On top of that, I still get to travel for free on SIA as I would meet my goals and had free incentive trips year on year without needing to work while traveling. → I fast track my personal and professional growth through sales. → I had more autonomy to decide the income I wanted base on the effort I put in. → The fast track to my economic freedom helped me realised that having good income is only one part of my equation, I realised money alone did not give me the freedom that I thought I would have. → I discovered that financial alone did not give me true freedom. It gave me the means to go on a journey to discover what fulfillment and personal freedom looks like. As I reflect on it, here are my learnings: → If I let one or two rejections get me down, it's not them, it's on me - I have had tens of thousands of rejections since then. → Every rejection is an opportunity to build resilience and confidence. → Rejection isn't the issue - how I choose to respond is what truly makes the difference. → Handling my emotions when people say “no” has fast track my personal and professional growth. → If I expect people to say yes to me all the time, I am not learning. → Looks aren't everything, despite what many think. → The best thing happen when I least expect them. → If I don't give up on myself, no one can either. How about you? What is your biggest lesson in your professional journey that transform you? ------------------- Thanks for reading! 📌 I am Victoria, and I'm CEO of the Goldzone Group. One thing that surprise me and accelerated my growth was the transferring of knowledge and helping others with their result - even when I didn’t fully grasp everything yet. I used to think I needed full mastery before I could confidently share, but I discovered that wasn’t the case. Here's why supporting others is a fast track to growth: → Supporting others allows me to apply what I’ve learned, reinforcing my own understanding. → While helping others, I quickly realize what I don’t yet know, bringing clarity to areas that need improvement. → Identifying these gaps is empowering and helps me focus on refining those areas for continuous improvement. Having this understanding transformed the way I learned and had me stop waiting for perfection by knowing everything. The truth is no one knows everything. Trying to have confidence by needing to know every step of the way is what holds people back from their full potential. Confidence comes from taking action, knowing the gap and bridging it. Would you join me to just go for it and stop waiting? ------------------- Thanks for reading! 📌 I am Victoria, and I'm CEO of the Goldzone Group. Unpopular opinion: Most conventional money advice keeps people stuck and trapped in their dead-end jobs. Over the years, I have heard the same financial advice: → Create a budget and stick to it. → Pay off credit cards and minimize debt. → Cut unnecessary expenses. → Save for emergencies. → Save for retirement. But here’s something few people realize: → Money is attracted to certainty. Allow me to explain: The opposite of certainty is doubt, especially self-doubt. When self-doubt creeps in: → We hesitate, which leads to uncertainty. → Uncertainty leads to lack of confidence, which others can sense. Something to ponder: → How likely are you to land a job if you come across as uncertain? → Will customers buy from you if you’re unsure about yourself and your product? → Will investors back your ideas if you don’t project confidence? → Can you inspire collaboration if you doubt yourself? Here’s the problem with most money advice: → It teaches us to play it safe and be cautious. → It keeps us stuck in a “security mode,” driven by fear. → It reinforces the belief that without money, we are powerless and vulnerable. → They are not focused on empowering us with clear and empowered choices. → It keeps us thinking we can't recover from losses, so we avoid taking risks altogether. I am familiar with the above and I know how it can trap me in a cycle of playing small. It does not have to be that way. Here's what I have done to free myself from being trapped and take charge more: → Uncover my relationship dynamic with money. → Aligned my financial decisions with my purpose and vision beyond security and survival. → Unlearn my limiting money beliefs and mindset that kept me stuck. → Develop certainty and confidence in myself in my ability to learn from failure and recover stronger. → Develop personal power so I don't depend on external sources for my sense of security. → Embraced taking risks on myself. → Doing that gives me confidence which gives others confidence. → With confidence, opportunities started flowing. My biggest learnings: → When I have certainty in myself, people say yes to me more. → When that happens, money flows. → True freedom comes from within and it gets manifested externally. Have you question your money beliefs and mindset before? ------------------- Thanks for reading! 📌 I am Victoria, and I'm CEO of the Goldzone Group.
