For the second year in a row, MyDroneFleets has been deployed at Exercise Wallaby in Australia to track and manage various aerial activities. Originally built to keep drones within geofences and out of no fly zones, MDF now handles advance conops ranging from instant restricted area, custom approval and notification workflows, alongside an increasing number of integrated drone models. Additionally, we’re happy to have RAiD (RSAF Agile innovation Digital) (RSAF’s Innovation team) on-board our Developer Programme to programmatically utilise drone tracks to rapidly prototype and roll out new requirements during the intense exercise. Already battle tested since the last exercise, the system helped ease airspace management operations across the various drones units belonging to various units, within a sky that’s also busy with manned aircrafts. Leading the RSAF's Digital Revolution with RAiD, a military start-up that delivers Solveware to bring Smarts & Smiles
How might we build on what we've learned from the industry for the military? At RAiD, we're constantly learning from our industry partners about developing software, data, and AI products. But we take it a step further. RAiD leverages its military domain expertise to create innovative concepts and tactics for the RSAF, facilitating the rapid insertion of "Solveware" into the field. In short, RAiD is passionate about turning "Bytes-to-Bites". Given that this approach is relatively new in the military, RAiD must iteratively develop and validate our ideas. Exercise Wallaby 2024 offered a fantastic opportunity for the RSAF to embed its RAiDers with other warfighters, allowing us to see firsthand how our tactics performed in an operational setting. Our RAiDers returned from their inaugural participation in the exercise with valuable lessons that will help us refine our concepts and tactics further. A big thank you to Lianhe Zaobao 联合早报 for recognizing our pioneering efforts. I especially appreciate the two contrasting photos featured, which capture the dual aspects of RAiD's operating environments for the rapid adoption of dual-use technology to defend our skies.
