The ASTAR-EVYD Joint Lab (EVYD Technology and A*STAR's Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC)) hosted a successful inaugural Healthcare AI Symposium, which concluded with a strong focus on collaboration to drive the development and translation of AI-enabled innovative solutions into real-world outcomes. The event, aimed at fostering an ecosystem for AI-driven advancements in population health and digital health, convened over 100 healthcare stakeholders. The symposium served as a valuable platform to showcase the Joint Lab’s progress. A highlight was the unveiling of the Joint Lab’s white paper, “Artificial Intelligence for Population Health and Digital Health in Singapore.” This resource explores the development of AI-enabled innovations to address prevailing healthcare challenges and outlines best practices and key considerations for responsible AI adoption in population health and digital health solutions: https://lnkd.in/gPTWNhs6 Furthermore, the symposium marked a significant step towards responsible AI governance and development. EVYD Technology and Duke-NUS Medical School CoRe Centre of Regulatory Excellence signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a robust framework for AI governance and regulation, specifically focused on digital health applications. The event fostered a shared vision for the future where AI plays a transformative role in improving healthcare outcomes and promoting healthier communities worldwide. We are proud to announce that EVYD Technology has achieved a significant milestone by obtaining ISO certification for the management of the quality of medical devices. We are now officially ISO 13485:2016 and EN ISO 13485:2016 certified for the design and development, manufacture, installation and distribution of Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) for Health Management. This builds on a recent FDA approval that we worked on to attain for a SaMD designed to support patients aged 21 or older in managing their type 2 diabetes. This software provides real-time feedback to patients and supports treatment plans by healthcare providers. The system analyzes and reports blood glucose test results and encourages medication adherence. In addition, the software provides motivational, behavioral, and educational messages based on blood glucose values and trends. This helps to keep patients engaged and up to date in their knowledge on the condition. These achievements reflect our unwavering commitment to quality, excellence, and customer satisfaction. We are proud to have undergone rigorous assessments and have been recognized for our ability to meet the international standards set forth by the ISO. Our customers and partners may be assured that our solutions and services adhere to regulatory and international standards. These milestones would not have been possible without the determination and diligence of our dedicated team. Our CEO, Ming Jie Chua, presented on the topic of "Application of Medical and Data Science in Population Health" at the NMRC Awards Ceremony and Research Symposium 2024 on May 24. Organized by the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Office, Division of Research and Innovation under MOH Holdings Pte Ltd (Singapore), the event was attended by government officials, clinicians, researchers, scientists, and senior representatives from healthcare institutions, research institutes, and the biomedical industry. Here are some of the key highlights from Ming Jie Chua’s talk: Empowering Brunei’s Ministry of Health: Ming Jie Chua illustrated how our data intelligence solutions including EVYDENCE, Surveillance, and EVYDHealth have empowered the Brunei Ministry of Health to embrace an evidence-based approach in policymaking, resource planning, disease surveillance, population health management, and health services delivery. Data Governance: Good AI models are fed by high-quality, diverse, and representative data. However, data quality issues are persistent in healthcare, and much information remains in unstructured forms. Additionally, consolidating data across different sites for model training poses significant challenges due to concerns surrounding data security and privacy. Ming Jie Chua shared how these challenges may be navigated in the real world through our data governance framework. Optimizing Returns: Ming Jie Chua also addressed the unique challenges of operating within the highly regulated healthcare landscape, including lengthy innovation gestation periods and substantial translation costs. The demand for increased personalization may potentially reduce scalability. To overcome these challenges, we prioritize forging partnerships with esteemed research institutions to leverage their domain expertise and tap into existing research, thereby lowering initial investment costs while accelerating innovation. Government Funding: Lastly Ming Jie Chua highlighted the crucial role of government funding in fostering innovation, especially in areas where investors are reluctant to engage. We are fortunate to be in Singapore, where various funding mechanisms are available, and NMRC has played a vital role in this regard. From predictive analytics to personalized healthcare, the application of medical and data science in population health has the potential to transform healthcare delivery, improve health outcomes, and reduce healthcare disparities. We were privileged to have participated in the Qatar Economic Forum 2024 which was held in Doha from 14-16 May 2024 under the patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Themed ‘A World Remade: Navigating the Year of Uncertainty,' this year’s forum saw three days of important dialogues and discussions on the challenges facing the global economy and explored future prospects amidst rapid transformations across dimensions including geopolitics, globalization, trade, energy transition, technology innovation, business, and investment.    Our CEO, Ming Jie Chua, contributed to a panel discussion titled ‘Artificial Intelligence in Real Life’, delving into how #AI is revolutionizing the healthcare sector and what it takes to realize value from AI in practice.    AI holds tremendous opportunity to enable healthcare providers to leverage vast amounts of data, including electronic health records, medical images, genomic data, and wearable device data, to derive actionable insights and deliver personalized care. Beyond clinical applications, AI-powered tools and systems can streamline administrative tasks, optimize resource allocation, and improve patient access to care.     Realizing the full value of AI in healthcare, however, requires addressing key challenges and aligning the interests of various stakeholders through collaborative efforts and strategic partnerships.  At EVYD Technology, we prioritize partnerships and collaborations with ecosystem participants to accelerate innovation.
