About us
Guernsey's leading business networking association supporting local business, charities, not for profits and individuals. We lobby and support organisations in every sector and continue to further grow our membership. Email membership@guernseychamber.com to discover more. Chamber comprises Industry Groups and Policy Representatives who feed into the central organisation to enable us to lobby effectively and create tailored business support. We also work hard to ensure that our organisation is always aware of topical issues, political scenarios and community perspectives. The Industry representatives and Chamber Executive work on an entirely voluntary level. Day to day direction of Chamber is agreed by the Executive Management Committee of nine Directors. Our aim is to be constructive in its approach to developing business in the Bailiwick. Although reactionary to specific issues as they arise, it aims to be proactive in looking for business opportunities and assisting members in areas that affect their business. Most importantly Chamber is the property of its members and plays a central role in both the business community and island as a whole. Our rising number of Third Sector and NFP organisations is also testament to our own CSR efforts and assistance for this crucial part of our society.

Since Guernsey publicised its decision last month, we have had to opportunity to meet with government and challenge the decisions and challenge the tender process on an arm's length basis. The new schedule, assuming Jersey does not select Brittany ferries next week, presents an excellent opportunity to strengthen our connections with our French neighbours, enhancing both tourism and trade while expanding the import of food and other goods from France. We have already met with our Chamber counterparts in St. Malo to proactively seize these opportunities and ensure we maximise the benefits this schedule can bring. While we see significant potential in this new arrangement and are committed to supporting our members through the transition, we remain concerned about the challenges it introduces. These include the loss of economies of scale, added complexity for freight logistics, and the current absence of an inter-island service. Despite these issues, we are committed to collaboration and working together to make this transition a success for our community. If you are interested in looking at these opportunities, please get in touch. https://lnkd.in/dXz6TAuV

🌬️ Big ideas are blowing in the wind...Last week, we gathered a group of members to explore the opportunities an offshore wind farm could bring—not just for renewable energy but for Guernsey’s businesses. 🌳 Thank you to Mark Leybourne from Dyna Energy for sharing their expertise and showing us how we can embrace this game-changing industry. Well, we’re still buzzing from last night’s Gala Dinner! 🙌 The energy in the room was electric, and Mary Portas' words seem to strike a chord! She called on us to set a bold, clear vision for Guernsey and that real change starts with conversation and collaboration. So, to all our attendees - you are the people who can take this forward! Check out Forward Faster - the UNs initiative to fast-track better business, and don't forget to tell us what you're up to. 📸 Take a look at the photos and see if you can spot yourself!
