Our Cullinan Mine received the top honour of Best Safety Performance in Class, while Finsch Mine was recognised with three awards for: ☑️ Most Improved Safety Performance ☑️Best Performance in Occupational Medicine ☑️Best Performance in Occupational Hygiene, marking the second consecutive year for this accolade. Last week, we also hosted the Northern Cape Mine Managers Association's 2024 SHE Day at the Finsch Mine, uniting mining operations across the Northern Cape in a powerful display of commitment to health, safety and environmental excellence. October was Breast Cancer Awareness month and at Petra Diamonds, we UNITED to save lives! Our incredible teams at Cullinan Mine and Finsch were on a mission to make a real difference in 🎗cancer prevention by offering a range of services like free professional health screenings including breast examinations, pap smears and PSA testing for men. This plays a part in the valuing our people pillar of our sustainability strategy. In partnership with #CANSA, we believe early detection is our strongest weapon. Because every life matters, and every test could save a life. See below some photos from our teams having a bit of fun in the process... #CreatingAbundanceFromRarity #BreastCancerAwareness #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #Netcare #SABS #KPLime

🌍Celebrating the International Day of Climate Action this week! 💎At Petra, we are committed to a sustainable, fossil-free future and are continually exploring initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint. Our ambitious 🎯goal is to reach net zero by 2040, however, we have set a target to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 35-40% by 2030. We have already reduced our emissions by 11% since 2019 through energy optimisation, waste reduction and water recycling. How are we making a difference: • We have reduced diesel consumption by 2 million litres (a 13% reduction) and improved electricity consumption by 19% (saving 93 million kWh ) compared to 2019. • Our waste reduction efforts have reduced domestic waste sent to landfills by 86% since 2019. • We have increased the volume of water recycled in our operations from 72% in 2019 to 86% in 2024. 📢 Today we announce our Q1 FY 2025 operating update and final sales results for Tenders 1 and 2 FY 2025. - Diamond production increased 7% from the previous quarter on the back of solid performances from Cullinan Mine and Williamson, with Finsch transitioning from continuous to a two-shift operation - We recorded 4 LTIs, resulting in our LTIFR rate increasing to 0.28 from 0.13 in the previous quarter and we have since implemented a number of behaviour-based interventions aimed at improving our health and safety performance. - Revenue, including profit share arrangements, amounted to US$23 million (Q4 FY 2024: US$113 million), impacted by the deferral of the majority of our South African goods from Tender 1 - Our combined first and second tenders indicate continued weakness in the rough diamond market, which was more than offset by Petra’s product mix. Overall average prices increased 13% compared to the previous tender, with product mix contributing 22%, partially offset by a 9% decrease in like-for-like - A 18.85ct blue diamond, of exceptional quality in terms of colour and clarity (which you can see below) was sold in Q1 FY2025 for US$8.5 million into a partnership agreement and a top light brown 405ct diamond, of exceptional clarity, from Cullinan Mine that was sold for US$4.7 million. - A US$48 million drawdown was made under the ZAR1.75 billion (US$101 million) Revolving Credit Facility with Absa Bank, leaving an outstanding balance of ZAR1.30 billion (US$76 million) at 30 September 2024 - Consolidated net debt increased to US$285 million as at 30 September 2024 (30 June 2024: US$201 million) due to the deferral of the majority of our South African goods from Tender 1 For the full overview and details of the calls we are hosting today, please visit our website: https://lnkd.in/dmvpGUUf
