This week we had an intense driver training session with former pro racer Bert Longin to prepare for the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2025. The day was filled with hands-on simulations, reaction and endurance tests, and powerful insights from Bert's career as a race pilot. 💪 The goal of the session was also to analyze each candidate thoroughly and later determine who will ultimately drive our new solar car during the race in Australia. 🇦🇺 With this kind of preparation, we’re excited to keep chasing victory and bring our best to the challenge!

Filming day with Kobe Ilsen for VRT 1! 🎥 Last Friday was all about heat, sweat, and top-level performance! Together with Kobe, we took on heat training in KU Leuven's climate chambers, guided by KUL exercise physiologist Katrien Koppo. These sessions simulate the extreme conditions our pilots will face during the World Championship in Australia: 🌡️ Temperatures up to 50°C inside our solar car 🧠 Measuring the impact of heat on focus and cognitive performance in our race simulator 💦 Sweat analysis to understand how the body adapts 🏁 Driving sessions of up to 5 hours straight, maintaining full concentration Both Kobe and our pilot Gilles gave it their all! 💪 Through these sessions, we aim to help the body acclimatize, as heat tolerance improves with training, much like physical fitness. #RoadToAustralia #HeatTraining #ietsvoorvrt1

𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 → 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬! 🚀 We officially finished our new solar car design! Although we cannot reveal it yet, we are very proud of what our team has accomplished in the last couple of months. This year’s car is way bigger, bringing new challenges like managing a larger solar panel ⚡️, ensuring stability 🔩, and handling stronger wind forces 🌪️. 📅 The final 𝐜𝐚𝐫 will already be 𝐮𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐲. Another month has passed by in our roadmap to the World Championship in August 2025! A lot has happened! We finalized the car’s shape, strength parameters, and structural design. 🔩 Almost all parts are now fully designed and ready for production. We also attended many events this month, from schools 🏫 to companies 🏢, sharing our mission. A highlight was Isra, our strategist, giving a keynote at Axxes IT Consultancy on the emerging IT concepts we are using in our solar car project. 👩💻 Soon, we’ll move fully into the production phase. Part of our team will even live in the workshop at INDUPOL INTERNATIONAL NV for the coming months. Finally, yesterday, the Infinite, our world-class solar car, returned safely from South Africa to Belgium. Exciting times ahead!

AERODEADLINE: ONE WEEK TO GO! Next week marks a pivotal moment on our road to the 2025 World Championship: finalizing the aerodynamic shape of our next-gen solar car! 🏎️ The 2025 regulations challenge us with larger solar panels, prompting our team to rethink previous design decisions and start again from scratch. Massive kudos to our aero dream team—Julie ter Hark, Pieter Smet, and Pieter De Mulder—for their dedication. Countless hours, simulations, and late nights have gone into the design of our new car. 👩💻👨💻👏 Once the design is set, it’s full speed ahead to the next stage: turning those virtual models into reality. 3D simulations ➡️ mold fabrication ➡️ production. Get to know the team behind our 11th Belgian solar car! 20 engineering students from diverse fields, united by one goal: building the next generation solar car and winning the World Solar Challenge! ⚡️ We come from all over Belgium! 🇧🇪 Just a few months ago, most of us didn’t even know each other. Today, we’re a united force, driven by shared values, motivation, and a mission to push the boundaries of solar technology. With expertise spanning Electrical-, Mechanical-, Chemical-, Material-, Bioscience-, and Computer Science Engineering, we’re split into three departments: Mechanical, Energy, and Marketing. 👩💻 Together, we cover everything from research, design and production to securing top-tier materials and partnerships.
