OPEN CALL: Territori d'inchiesta // Deadline estesa 📣 Abbiamo esteso la deadline per applicare alla seconda fase di Territori d’Inchiesta, la formazione di FADA Collective supportata dal Journalismfund Europe. Hai tempo fino al 10 gennaio 2025 per inviare la tua candidatura! 👉🏽 Se stai lavorando a un’inchiesta o un reportage sulla crisi climatica o sui conflitti ambientali in Italia puoi partecipare alla nostra formazione in presenza. 👉🏽 Selezioneremo 28 di voi. Ci riuniremo dal 28 al 30 marzo 2025 a Sessa Aurunca, in provincia di Caserta dove, insieme, proveremo a costruire comunità e immaginare forme di diffusione del lavoro giornalistico sui territori, con particolare attenzione alle periferie e alle aree interne. ⛺️ Noi copriremo le spese di formazione e alloggio, compresa la colazione. L* partecipanti dovranno invece provvedere personalmente alle spese di viaggio e ai pasti. On the first workday of the new year, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on some of the collaborations I worked on in 2024 together with Mathilde de Jeu for The Investigative Desk: Tobacco Industry and Science In the spring, we published a story with Hristio Boytchev in The BMJ and on Follow the Money about the financial ties between the tobacco industry and medical researchers. https://bit.ly/3DyAyy0 Food Industry Practices We examined how companies like Nestlé and Unilever profit in two ways: by selling ultra-processed, unhealthy food and by investing in solutions to counteract the effects of these products, such as weight-loss treatments and medical nutrition for diabetes patients. This investigation was featured in Nederlands Tijdschrift Voor Geneeskunde | NTVG and Follow the Money. https://bit.ly/4fMX6s9 Financial Issues at Vion Together with Richard Clevers, we reported for Algemeen Dagblad and regional newspapers on the financial difficulties of mega-slaughterhouse Vion, even as the management awarded themselves bonuses. https://bit.ly/4h1zjWJ Sustainability Claims by Nespresso In December, we published a story with Carlos Piedrahita from Baudó Agencia Pública on Follow the Money about Nespresso’s AAA label, which promises sustainable coffee and better conditions for farmers and the environment. However, Colombian coffee farmers shared a different reality. https://bit.ly/3W0uZi8 Looking forward to new collaborations in 2025!
