Pidpa (Provinciale en Intercommunale Drinkwatermaatschappij der Provincie Antwerpen) and Aquaduin appointed IMDC to create rainwater and drought plans for several municipalities within the province of Antwerp and West-Vlaanderen. 💦 In these plans, an integral spatial vision is elaborated on where and how rainwater can be kept on site, infiltrated, buffered and discharged in a delayed manner. In addition, the search for measures that contribute to the municipalities' drought problems is maximized. ☔ This project fits within IMDC's experience in urban hydrology and we were responsible for the inventory, the development of a vision on the future approach and the organization of the actor consultation for the municipalities. Plans for the communities of Lokaal bestuur Puurs-Sint-Amands, Lokaal bestuur Berlaar, Duffel, Lokaal Bestuur Herenthout, Lint, Putte, Gemeente Sint-Katelijne-Waver, Lokaal bestuur Wuustwezel, Lokaal Bestuur Aartselaar, Malle, Lokaal bestuur Zandhoven, Niel, Gemeente Hulshout, Gemeente Willebroek, Dessel, Lokaal bestuur Meerhout, Gemeente Boechout, Boom, Lokaal bestuur Ravels, Gemeente Oud-Turnhout, Gemeente Westerlo, gemeentebestuur Retie, De Panne, Lokaal bestuur Alveringem, Stad Nieuwpoort, Stad Veurne and Koksijde - Oostduinkerke were successfully realized by Tijs Cornu, Ine Darras, Jasper Vande Capelle, Hanne Van Gaelen, Marjolein Dewaele, Pieter Mallants, Cato Vermeiren, Thomas Weygaerts, Frederik Zoeter, Katrien Van Eerdenbrugh, Zeinab Khalifeh, Victor De Ripainsel and Zoë Pauwaert. #ExpertsInWater #Sustainability #PoweredByIMDC #Ecohydrology

As we wrap up the year, we would like to showcase our in-house tools developed by our Digital Water Solutions team and our Water Computing and Monitoring team 🎄 At IMDC, we understand the importance of cutting-edge technology, innovation, and digital tools. That’s why we are proud to develop our tools in house! By combining our in-depth water knowledge with software engineering we can develop tailor-made digital tools for our customers. Our in-house Synapps platform is an innovative software solution that (among others) supports offshore construction works with its weather downtime module, monitoring teams with its monitoring module called Meetnet and engineering teams with its advanced reporting and GIS functionalities. On the other hand, we developed the innovative PEREX 4.0 application, a tool to manage water resources in the Walloon area in closed loop without intervention of water resources managers Finally, we developed an operational forecasting system that (among others) runs a live sediment plume dispersion model to forecast plume dispersion during construction and or dredging works. It can be used in the decision making of using the appropriate mitigation measures during the project execution and scenario assessment in the planning phase of your project. This system ensures that dredging activities are carried out responsibly, with a focus on minimizing environmental impact and adhering to regulations. 🌍 📽️ Watch the video to learn more about how we’re using real-time data and innovation to better help our clients in taking ad hoc decisions. #ExpertsInWater #Innovation #PoweredByIMDC #EnvironmentalMonitoring #Dredging #Sustainability #RealTimeData #IMDC #SedimentPlume

This season, we’re wrapping up another successful year of creating resilient and sustainable port solutions. 🎁 Ports are important for a country’s economy and welfare, serving as vital logistical hubs. But modern port development requires much more than just functionality—it’s about integrating seamlessly with cities and the natural environment while preparing for future challenges. By embedding innovative solutions and sustainability into every stage of the planning and feasibility process, our Marine Dredging & Port Engineering team helps building ports that are not just functional, but resilient and future-proof. 🚢 Watch the video to learn how we approach port design with innovation and sustainability at its core. 📽️ #ExpertsInWater #PortDesign #SustainableInfrastructure #Logistics #Innovation #IMDC #Port

At IMDC, we recognize the growing challenges posed by climate change and the essential role of water resources management in creating resilient communities and ecosystems. Ecohydrology studies the connection or interaction between water and nature, and it’s an expertise of IMDC. Ecohydrological studies together with groundwater and surfacewater modelling, are used as a multidisciplinary approach to propose the correct improvement measures. From inland waterways to coastal regions, our #WaterResourcesManagement team and #CoastsAndEstuaries team collaborate on groundbreaking projects that safeguard freshwater supplies, manage flood risks, and enhance coastal resilience. Supporting their efforts, our #HydroEnvironmentalServices team ensures that ecological and environmental requirements are integrated into every solution we design and our Digital Water Solutions team supports with quantitative scenario comparisons using our in-house models. Together, we deliver innovative and sustainable approaches to meet the challenges of a changing climate and balance human needs with environmental stewardship. 🌿💦 Discover how IMDC is shaping a future where people and nature thrive. As we approach the holiday season, we are reminded of the importance of sustainable progress for a brighter future for all 🎄 At IMDC, we are proud to play a pivotal role in one of Belgium's most ambitious offshore projects: the Energy Island in the Princess Elisabeth Zone of the North Sea. As owner engineer, we’re working with our partners CDR, Svasek Hydraulics and Tractebel to support our client Elia in turning this visionary project into reality. The island will serve as a critical hub for integrating renewable energy into Belgium’s grid, a vital step towards sustainability and energy independence. Our #BlueEnergy team is at the forefront of this innovative initiative, leveraging expertise to optimize offshore renewable energy solutions. Also our #HydroEnvironmentalServices team has been instrumental in advising on nature-inclusive design and writing the Environmental Impact Assessment, ensuring that the project harmonizes with the surrounding marine ecosystem. This is more than an infrastructure project—it’s a leap forward in innovation and a commitment to building a greener, more sustainable future. 🌍⚡ Watch the video to discover more about this exciting journey! 🎥 #ExpertsInWater #EnergyTransition #OffshoreInnovation #Sustainability #IMDC #Tractebel #Elia #RenewableEnergy

What an incredible show of support and generosity! Our #WarmsteWeek charity auction came to an end, and we’re thrilled to announce that together, we raised over 6.000 euros!! 🔥 Every two years, our IMDC family comes together to support a meaningful cause. This year, we’re proud to take part in the Warmste Week, focusing on combating loneliness—a challenge that deeply impacts so many. This year’s auction was filled with heartwarming contributions, from sports initiations, guided tours, delicious dinners, poker night, family walks and a table football tournament to a wonderful array of homemade pastries and cookies baked with love by our talented colleagues. A special shoutout to our enthusiastic auctioneer Theofano (Fani) Koutrouveli and a huge thank you to everyone who baked, bid, and participated. Your kindness and creativity make all the difference. Together, we’ve shown that no one has to feel alone 🫂 #ExpertsInWater #WarmsteWeek #IMDCcares #CharityAuction
