📄 The document "Sufficiency in the #buildingsector: for the EU Whole Life Carbon Roadmap" highlights 'sufficiency' in the sector to reduce emissions 📉 and address housing shortages 🏘, but notes challenges such as economic barriers, limited data, and the need for greater administrative capacity to support these initiatives. 🤝 The study, conducted by BPIE - Buildings Performance Institute Europe and Ramboll for the Directorate-General for EU Environment and Climate of the European Commission, aims to support the EU Roadmap for the Reduction of Whole Life Carbon Emissions. ❗🆕 It's finally here! Our interview with Stefan Moser, Head of Unit, DG Energy, European Commission, is already available on the #EU_BUILDUP portal. Moser digs into the key role decarbonisation of buildings plays in achieving the ambitious goals set in the EPBD and explains what financial mechanisms and incentives are planned to facilitate this transition. In this Special Interview, BUILD UP also had the opportunity to talk with him about the next steps in 2025 and how the European Commission is supporting Member States in this building decarbonisation process, amongst other topics.
