  • 🎄 THE ESNO EXTEND OUR WARMEST WISHES FOR A JOYFULL AND PEACEFULL WINTER HOLLIDAY SEASON 🎄 . We look back on a very energetic and dynamic year 2024, filled with numerous activities including events, meetings, publications, and participation at various levels—local, national, regional, and European. We also experienced a significant increase in organisations joining our association, with a notable emphasis on individuals joined our community. As a European organisation, we have achieved much in making our voice heard within the European health ecosystem, contributing significantly to the health challenges we face at thematic level, programatic, policy and political. Our nurses have shown great enthusiasm and energy, and we have also received tremendous support from European health institutions and the private sector, networks, allainces and much more and a greatfully for their support including members of the European Parliament and European Commission, and look forward to collaborate in the brave chosen direction in the next mandate. In this short message, we would like to express our gratitude to all involved and look forward to the new year, 2025, with a great series of activities, exchange of ideas, proposed directions, and above all "... not waiting for others to provide solutions that are within our own capacities". In this, we celebrate the strength of our diversity and invite everyone in the European health ecosystem to join us in the wide spectrum of activities planned for 2025. LASTLY AND IMPORTANT: "As we represent a wide group of professionals in the nursing domain across all specialties, many of our colleagues will be working during the next weeks, in hospitals and communities, providing help, assistance, and comfort to European civil society in need, during this Christmas and New Year celebrations". We wish them, despite the long and dedicated hours, a "wonderful time" ➡️ respect🙏 . Best wishes for a wonderful year 2025 ahead. The ESNO Team: Adriano, Alessandro, Julie, Patricia, Andreja, Josefine, Kristian, Maddalena, Tihana, Panagiotta and Ber

  • Nurses from across the country traveled to The Hague on Wednesday, December 18. They expressed their anger over the proposed budget cuts for additional and continuing education for nurses in hospitals. During a debate in Parliament, the GreenLeft/Labour Party (GL/PvdA) submitted a motion requesting the government to find a solution to the budget cuts before the spring recess.

𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗴𝗸𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘇𝗶𝗷𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗱𝗮𝗴 𝟭𝟴 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗮𝗮𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗮𝗴 𝗮𝗳𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝘀𝗱.

Today, we are witnessing a historic moment in Strasbourg as the European Parliament voted to elevate the #SANT Subcommittee to full committee status. As Vice-Coordinator for SANT and a doctor, this moment is deeply personal for me. Health is the foundation of our resilience, and now, SANT will have the legislative power to address critical health challenges, from #emergency #preparedness to #accesstomedicines and #innovation. As we move forward, I am proud to support this decision alongside my colleagues, especially MEP Tomislav Sokol, EPP Coordinator, and MEP Adam Jarubas, SANT Chair. Together, we are committed to shaping a healthier, more equitable, and sustainable future for all Europeans. However, as we celebrate this step forward, we must also reflect on the situation back home in Hungary. Under the current Fidesz government, the Ministry of Health no longer exists. #Public #health is now managed by a State Secretary for Health within the Ministry of Interior Affairs—a clear reduction in the priority given to healthcare at the national level. This step backward in Hungary sends the wrong signal at a time when health policy is more critical than ever. As a member of the #Tisza Party, I am committed to ensuring that public health remains a top priority, both within the EU and at home in Hungary. The EU is leading the way with its health-focused agenda, and it’s time for Hungary to follow suit by restoring the Ministry of Health to its rightful place, safeguarding the well-being of our citizens. Today's vote is a momentous step in the fight for better health policies. Now, we must ensure that this commitment to public health is mirrored at home, where Hungary’s citizens deserve a Ministry of Health that can effectively respond to their needs. Let’s continue to prioritize what matters most: the well-being of our citizens. 💪 #Strasbourg #EUHealth #SANT #HealthPolicy #PublicHealth #Resilience #Leadership #Hungary #TiszaParty
