2024 was quite a year ✨ The D4D Hub brought you information to engage in more than 40 events and workshops, opportunities offered by 8 joint initiatives, and more than 30 news and stories on #TeamEurope's partnerships in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia-Pacific, and the EU neighbouring countries. We look forward to continuing to connect with you through meaningful content in 2025. In the meantime, our social media team is taking a break to celebrate the holidays. With the support of #TeamEurope, young voices from Africa are shaping the future of data governance. It's a wrap! 🙏 Thank you to all our members and partners who made our participation at #IGF2024 possible. We are happy to have made connections with important stakeholders committed to shaping an open and secure digital future for all. ➡️ We brought together our #TeamEurope on-site participants from the European Commission, Germany, Estonia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Finland. Jointly, we showcased our vision to build a fair, transparent, and secure digital space with our partners. ➡️ We met with active and new members of our advisory groups, listened to their views on digital governance, and discussed opportunities to strengthen our work in 2025. ➡️ Thanks to the hospitality of the German Embassy in Riyadh, we hosted a networking reception that gathered policymakers and representatives of civil society, academia, and the private sector to discuss collaboration opportunities. ➡️ We supported the European Commission in facilitating a conversation on the challenges faced by women in the digital space and how #GlobalGateway is contributing to closing the gender digital divide. During this year's Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Management (#APMCDRR2024) in Manilla 🇵🇭, the D4D Hub coordinated a partner event highlighting the role of #Copernicus data and services and the newly established CopPhil Centre in disaster risk management. Our main takeaways: 🛰️ By utilising satellite data, especially #Copernicus data, stakeholders can improve their preparedness, response, and recovery efforts during natural disaster events. 🤝 Speakers advocated for co-development and strong collaboration with all stakeholders, much aligned with the #D4DHub spirit.
