A fun AFR piece here by Michelle Bowes. Amid apartments, houses, shares and even an early-90s Peugeot, Chris Jewell's childhood commitment to numismatics is to be admired. "As a kid, I was taught by my very sensible parents that Australia’s annual commemorative stamp and coin collections were an excellent long-term investment. They were nice to look at, too. Although, as the collections were kept in a very “secure” spot – the hidden space above the shower – I rarely saw them," says Chris. Ever the optimist, Chris describes his commemorative collections investment journey as a 'lesson in liquidity'. We think 'taking a bath' might be more apt. Well worth a read!
