  • Last month Iluka Resources hosted our Community Development Manager, Victor Woodley Jnr, and our Heritage and Research Manager, Marnie Tonkin, for a site visit. It was an opportunity to start to grow a relationship to ensure the protection of cultural heritage values and the environment. Iluka demonstrated the unique rehabilitation processes they undertake when backfilling their pits and the methods implemented to reduce impacts to nesting Carnaby cockatoos. We appreciate the practical solutions proposed by the environment team to further protect our sacred Moore River within the mine tenure. Our discussions are ongoing to ensure the interests of our Yued people are maintained and improved where possible.
