Why do children and young people contact Kids Helpline? It may be because they're stressed and can't sleep from the worry, like Ryan. Or they might be struggling with the divorce of their parents, like Georgia. In fact, concerns about emotional wellbeing, mental health, suicide, and family accounted for the top four reasons young people contact Kids Helpline in 2023/24 No one child or young person is the same, and that is why we are committed to providing a variety of safe and accessible services. In 2023/24, Kids Helpline counsellors responded to 117,720 contacts. For every free call made to Santa from a Telstra payphone, Telstra will donate $1 to Kids Helpline, so every child has someone they can turn to on Christmas Day.
