We work with young people to find jobs, learn skills, become great parents and live safe happy lives.

About us

yourtown is a charity that provides services young people can access to find jobs, learn skills, become great parents and live safe, happy lives. Since 1961, we’ve been tackling the issues impacting young people in Australia – like youth unemployment and mental health, and we take on issues like domestic and family violence. Each month, thousands of young people connect with us to access the services we provide at both community and national levels. We deliver services that get results. They include Kids Helpline, training and employment services for young people, parent education and specialist accommodation for families. Our team is a specialist mix of counsellors, social workers, researchers and qualified support personnel. Research shapes our services. By taking the time to listen and understand their priorities, we’re committed to filling the gap in contemporary research about Australian children and young people. For a full list of our services, visit https://www.yourtown.com.au/our-services The community, through yourtown’s Art Unions, funds most of what we do. It’s a great chance to win and it’s guaranteed support for young people and their families. Together, we can be part of the solution. Apply to join the team, make a donation, buy tickets, become a corporate partner or follow us on social media!

Or they might be struggling with the divorce of their parents, like Georgia. In fact, concerns about emotional wellbeing, mental health, suicide, and family accounted for the top four reasons young people contact Kids Helpline in 2023/24 No one child or young person is the same, and that is why we are committed to providing a variety of safe and accessible services. In 2023/24, Kids Helpline counsellors responded to 117,720 contacts. These contacts might be ongoing or one-off, over the phone or via our webchat. 📖 Read the 2023/24 annual report: https://ytwn.in/49bwS0Y
