  • Two sleeps until Santa is here! 🎅🎄 As we count down the days to celebrate with family and friends, thousands of young Australians with physical disabilities will spend Christmas in aged care, hospitals, or institutions not suited to their needs. Chris knows this reality all too well. After months in hospital and missing out on Christmas and birthdays, he faced the challenge of finding a home that met his care needs. Today, Chris enjoys the freedom of living in a Youngcare home, where he has the choice to live life on his terms. This Christmas, your donation can give the gift of independence, dignity, and a place to call home for young people with physical disabilities. Donate today: https://lnkd.in/gbK7wWn4

Youngcare is turning 20 in 2025! In 2005, our founders set out on a mission to ensure young people with complex and permanent physical disabilities could live with dignity and in a home of their choice. Fast forward to today, and Youngcare has touched the lives of thousands, providing beautiful homes, grants, and advocating for a better future for those who need it most. As we approach our 20th anniversary, we’re reflecting on two decades of difference and looking forward to even more to come. On Saturday 29 March 2025, we’ll kick off our celebrations with a Black-Tie Gala Ball at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. It will be a night to remember – celebrating our achievements, honouring those who have supported us, and of course, having a lot of fun! Purchase tickets here: https://bit.ly/4g4mjzj Together, let’s continue to create positive change for young Australians living with disability. #YoungcareOz #Youngcare20 #Celebrating20Years #DisabilityAdvocacy #MakingADifference #YoungcareGala

  • After more than three years of commitment to ensuring young people with high care disabilities are empowered with choice, independence and dignity, Youngcare CEO, Greg Johnson has announced his retirement.    His replacement, Clare Stewart, is a current Youngcare board member and will take over the role in early February 2025. Following an exceptional three years of leadership and service, Mr. Johnson’s decision to step down marks the end of a career defined by deep passion and commitment to the not-for-profit sector. “I extend our sincere thanks to Greg Johnson for his leadership and unwavering dedication. Located in the heart of Brisbane, it provides easy access to shops, transport, and green spaces. Chris, a resident at Youngcare’s Chermside apartments, knows how life-changing homes like this can be. An amazing night at the Motor Trades Association of Queensland (MTAQ) Industry Awards Gala tonight. We were fortunate to have this year's Australian Supercars champion Will Brown, who shared stories of coming up in the scene, and even an adventurous foray into NASCAR in the states. Congratulations to all the winners as well tonight - innovators, pioneers, apprentices - in the Queensland #automotive industry. Kudos to CEO Rod Camm, Chair Paul Peterson, MC Ben Davis, Jade O'Shea, Kathy Winkcup, Kellie Dewar, Marcello Riotta, and everyone else who made tonight possible, and who bid in the auctions to raise much needed funding for Youngcare.
