Strategic Planning and Sustainability with Vinnies: Making a Difference, Big and Small! Over the past months, at Wisdom Learning - RTO 88062 we have had the privilege of facilitating strategic planning sessions across various St Vincent de Paul Society Canberra/Goulburn (Vinnies) Directorates - from Community Engagement and Youth Services to Special Works and Corporate Services. One common thread has stood out in all these sessions: the presence of energetic, community-minded, committed individuals, all dedicated to giving a hand up to those in need.  While sustainability is often discussed at an organisational level, it's the smaller opportunities to make a difference that can sometimes be overlooked. Yesterday, we witnessed Vinnies' sustainable mindset in action. As often happens in planning days, a few last-minute cancellations left us with surplus food. But across all directorates, Vinnies ensured that any additional, appropriate food was redirected to those in need.   In the attached photo, you'll see Vinnies' COO, Antony (Tony) Allen, leading by example as he delivers the extra food to Night Patrol.   Yesterday's planning day was a powerful reminder that sustainability manifests in both big initiatives and small actions.  Reflecting on an Inspiring Experience at the L&D Symposium 2024! I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Learning & Development Symposium 2024, hosted by Ashton Media, alongside our General Manager, Madeleine Carolan. It was truly inspiring to be surrounded by industry leaders and peers, all sharing a wealth of knowledge and innovation. At Wisdom Learning - RTO 88062, we are committed to pioneering the future of education and professional development. This event reinforced the importance of continuous learning and adapting to the ever-evolving landscape of L&D. Here are a few key takeaways that I found particularly valuable: Embracing Digital Transformation: The symposium highlighted how digital tools and platforms are revolutionising the way we learn. From AI-driven personalised learning paths to immersive VR training experiences, the future of L&D is tech-driven and incredibly exciting. The Value of Mandatory Compliance Training: Ensuring that compliance training is not only mandatory but also engaging, and effectivily aligned to risk frameworks is crucial. Debra van Rensburg from NAB presentation was particularly noteworthy, emphasising how well-designed compliance programs can protect organisations and empower employees with the knowledge they need to succeed. Data-Driven Decision Making: Leveraging data analytics to measure the effectiveness of training programs and make informed decisions is a game-changer. This approach ensures that learning initiatives are aligned with business goals and deliver tangible results. Human-Centred Learning Design: While technology plays a significant role, the human element remains at the heart of effective learning. Designing programs that are empathetic, inclusive, and tailored to individual needs is essential for maximising impact. A huge thank you to Ashton Media for organising such a thought-provoking event and to all the speakers for their insightful contributions.
