This time last weekend, Western United welcomed one and all to Ironbark Fields for a spectacular Celebrate Africa day alongside Africa Day Australia. It all kicked off with the women’s African Cup of Nations Grand Final, seeing Uganda came out on top with a 3-1 win over South Sudan to claim the title following a game full of action. The men’s grand final followed suit and while Senegal did their utmost to knock South Sudan off their perch, their resistance was broken and South Sudan claimed a 4-1 victory to win the tournament for the third straight year. The community came together after the matches for the presentation of the awards, food and drinks, market stalls and to enjoy the A-Leagues Isuzu UTE Men clash against Macarthur Bulls. A big thank you to our amazing partners that continue to help us deliver exciting experiences for the community.
