A potential new treatment for #MND developed by NuNerve Pty Ltd, a company spun-out of The University of Queensland by us, has shown promising human clinical trial results. Founder Emeritus Professor Perry Bartlett says NUN-004, developed after decades of research at UQ Queensland Brain Institute, is not only a potential new therapeutic option for patients with #MND but may also slow disease progression and improve gross and fine motor movement. The only drug of its kind is in development at #UniQuest's #QEDDI initiative. James Wells from The University of Queensland's #Frazer Institute is working with QEDDI's small molecule scientists to progress a topical cream to prevent the formation of skin cancers through pre-clinical development. The cream will be targeted to organ transplant patients who are particularly at risk.
