The name comes from the tradition of "boxing up" gifts or donations for those in need. In the past, churches collected alms, and families gave Christmas boxes of money, gifts, or food to staff and tradespeople—a day rooted in generosity and gratitude. Today, why not give Boxing Day a sustainable twist? Consider re-gifting, recycling wrapping paper, and saving festive ornaments for next year. Freeze leftover food or pack it up for a picnic outdoors. Whether you’re enjoying time with family, soaking up the sunshine, or getting creative in the kitchen, it’s a great day to focus on sharing and sustainability. What’s your eco-friendly plan for Boxing Day? 🌍🎁 #SUHO #ESDConsultancy #BoxingDay #SustainableCelebrations #Festivities #TraditionOfGiving #Gratitude #Joy #Generosity #RecycleAndReuse #FamilyTime #HolidayVibes #Sharing #CommunitySpirit Photo by Juan Cruz Mountford on Unsplash

December 25th holds a special meaning across cultures worldwide, symbolising light, renewal, and connection. For some, it’s a celebration of hope and rebirth, like in ancient solstice traditions or the return of light in Mithraism. Others mark it as a time to honour family and kinship, as seen in Mōdraniht or even the global celebration of Christmas. Across all these traditions, December 25th is about community, sharing, and reflecting on the values that unite us as humans. At SUHO, we cherish these universal themes of connection and joy. Whatever your tradition, we hope your day is filled with love, warmth, and meaningful moments with those who matter most. Happy December 25th from all of us! 🌟🌟 #SUHO #ESDConsultancy #December25th #GlobalConnections #LightAndRenewal #FamilyAndCommunity #SharedTraditions #HopeAndJoy #UniversalCelebration #CulturalDiversity #LoveAndWarmth #SeasonOfSharing #CelebratingConnection

What better way to celebrate a fantastic year? Sunsets over the water at Glenelg, ice creams by the ferris wheel, soaking up summer vibes at one of Adelaide's stunning wineries, and belly laughs as we (reluctantly!) gave up gifts during Santa Steals. Add in Bocci, Finska, Jenga, Table Tennis, and some truly memorable moments, and you’ve got a recipe for a perfect celebration. What makes it truly special? The genuine connections, shared goals, and unwavering passion for sustainable design that bring our team together and make us successful at what we do. Here’s to another year of collaboration, growth, and good times!! 🌿🎉 #SUHO #ESDConsultancy #TeamCelebration #SustainableDesign #YearEndFun #WorkLifeBalance #AdelaideVibes #TeamGoals #Collaboration #SunsetsAndIceCream #SantaSteals #SummerCelebration #GreenFuture #AuthenticConnections #SuccessTogether

🚀 SUHO + Shape Australia: Fast-Tracked ESD Excellence We’re proud to have collaborated with Shape Australia on the Mambourin Good News Lutheran College modular building project. With tight deadlines and a need for precision, SUHO delivered a fast and accurate Section J Report to ensure compliance with the NCC 2022, Volume 1 (Amendment 1) energy efficiency requirements. Our role included assessing the proposed design and confirming glazing requirements to guarantee the right specifications were supplied on time. This project highlights our strong partnership with Shape Australia and our expertise in modular building ESD consultancy. #SUHO #ShapeAustralia #ESDConsultancy #Sustainability #SectionJ #JV3 #ModularConstruction #EnergyEfficiency #Education #GlazingRequirements #TeamWork #SharedVision
Our Modular by SHAPE team recently delivered 36 modules over a two-week period for Good News Lutheran College at their new 6.8ha campus site in Mambourin, Victoria. This is a high-growth area west of Melbourne, and the College has a master plan that includes gradually adding buildings to cater up to Year 12. The campus will officially open in 2025 with the junior school. Our team and subbies are well underway with works on-site of the two single-story buildings — one will house 12 purpose-built classrooms with amenities, and the other is an administration building with reception, meeting rooms/offices, staff room, sick bay and amenities. Big thanks to our long-standing, reliable delivery team of Fowlers Building Transport and Crane-Tech Cranes & Consulting, who always get the job done safely and efficiently. Reducing Carbon, Raising Standards: Denmark’s Building Revolution The City of Melbourne’s recent thought leadership event, “Exploring Life Cycle Assessments, Low Embodied Carbon, and Sustainable Buildings,” highlighted innovative strategies for reducing carbon emissions in the built environment. A key focus was Denmark’s ‘Reduction Roadmap,’ which demonstrates how translating the Paris Agreement and the Planetary Boundary for Climate Change into industry-specific reduction targets can drive meaningful change. Through determined collaboration, the roadmap showcases the potential to achieve ambitious sustainability goals. Professor Harpa Birgisdottir, a distinguished authority in sustainable construction and life cycle assessment, has played a pivotal role in shaping Denmark’s ‘Reduction Roadmap.’ This progressive framework is designed to lower carbon emissions in the building sector by implementing clear benchmarks and utilising lifecycle analysis for materials, design, and construction practices. The roadmap establishes incremental carbon limits for buildings, fostering innovation while maintaining a balance between practicality and environmental stewardship. By embracing data-driven methodologies and promoting collaboration among government, industry, and academia, Denmark is setting a precedent for a low-carbon future in the built environment. Lessons for Australia Australia has an opportunity to adapt these strategies to its context by: · Introducing lifecycle carbon benchmarks to inform sustainable design and material selection. · Encouraging collaboration across sectors to advance innovation in sustainable building practices. · Implementing a phased approach to ensure achievable and impactful adoption. Denmark’s roadmap underscores the potential of well-defined policies and collective action in shaping a greener, more sustainable built environment. Could a similar initiative help Australia lead the way in sustainable construction? 🌏 For more information on Denmark's Reduction Roadmap, head here: https://lnkd.in/efsyC9v2 #SUHO #ESDConsultanciy #SustainableArchitecture #LowCarbonDesign #LifecycleAssessment #InnovativeBuilding #DanishSustainability #LeadByExample #ReductionRoadmap #CrossSectorCollaboration #DataDrivenDesign #BetterBuilding #GreenFuture #SafeFuture #YesWeCan

Rethinking Linoleum Flooring 🌏 Linoleum flooring is an eco-friendly and durable option made from natural, renewable materials like linseed oil, cork dust, wood flour, and jute backing. It has many favoured benefits as we move further away from synthetic materials and high embodied carbon to smart, simple and natural materials for future-thinking building design. • Sustainability: Made from biodegradable materials, linoleum reduces environmental impact throughout its lifecycle. • Longevity: With proper care, it can last 20-40 years, minimising the need for replacement. • Low Carbon Footprint: Its production process is energy-efficient and environmentally conscious. • End-of-Life Benefits: Linoleum can naturally decompose or be recycled, reducing landfill waste. 🛠️ Things to Keep in Mind • Choose linoleum from certified sustainable manufacturers. • Use low-VOC adhesives during installation to maintain its eco-friendly credentials. By incorporating linoleum flooring, your projects can achieve a balance between sustainability, aesthetics, and functionality, supporting a greener built environment. #SUHO #ESDConsultancy #InteriorInspiration #EcoFriendlyMaterials #GreenBuilding #RenewableMaterials #SustainableFlooring #GreenArchitecture #EcoFriendlyDesign #InteriorSustainability #CircularDesign #LowImpactLiving #BuildingSustainability #DesignForFuture #EnvironmentallyConsciousDesign
