Queensland and India are forging strong partnerships in education. 🤝 With a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration and internationalisation, India’s National Education Policy (NEP 2020) is paving the way for transformative changes in higher education. This opens opportunities for partnerships with Queensland’s esteemed universities. Recent regulations from the Indian government to encourage foreign universities to establish international campuses and Offshore Education Centres (OECs) in Gujarat’s emerging GIFT City underscore this vision. Connect with the TIQ team to learn more about collaboration opportunities in the evolving education landscape between India and Queensland. Study Queensland, in collaboration with Campus Consultancy was proud to hold our inaugural Innovation Challenge recently on the Gold Coast 🚀 Talented international students connected with employers including Norco, Anonyome Labs, Inc., Mytime Accounting Pty Ltd , Department of Justice QLD, JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa, and Mondrian Gold Coast to unpack the challenge, 'hiring and retaining #talent'. Over the eight-hour event, students delved into each organisation's unique challenges, formed teams and brainstormed innovative solutions. They then pitched their ideas to an experienced judging panel. The Innovation Challenge forms part of Study Queensland's suite of #employability initiatives to support international students in building crucial skills and connections to set them up for a successful career 🎓 💼 Congratulations to incredible international students who participated, and a thank you to our participating employers and expert judges, Samantha Kilmartin, Alvin Yap, Christine Lennon, Dennis Silvers, Chris Marsh and Tristan Vue, who made the event a success.

Study Queensland recently held an information session for education agents in Bangkok, Thailand. With over 50 education agents in attendance, the event included market updates and policy information from the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) and the Queensland Department of Education. Ms. Van Tran, Principal Business Development Manager, Education delivered a presentation about the role of Study Queensland and what our state is doing to support international students to achieve their dreams in #Queensland. Information sessions like these help Queensland's IET providers to better connect with students in Thailand and highlight the opportunities to study in Queensland, as well as strengthen the presence of our IET sector in the region. #InternationalStudents #Queensland #StudyQueensland

Last week Study Queensland, in partnership with the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), hosted a successful roundtable discussion with Queensland international education and training providers on the current data trends and education landscape in South Asia. We welcomed 20 participants from universities, registered training institutions, and the school sector. A special thanks to Vik Singh, Trade and Investment Commissioner and Neha Grover, Senior Director Trade and Investment (Education) who lead the Austrade South Asia Education team in India for sharing valuable insights on student mobility, transnational education, EdTech, and Future Skills Initiatives during their visit. Stephanie Hunter, Acting Manager Global Relations at Study Queensland provided the latest data on enrolments from India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to Queensland and an overview of the services Study Queensland offers to promote and support Queensland providers in South Asia. We also welcomed Gabrielle Troon from Trade and Investment Queensland's South Asia team, who provided context on the Queensland-India Trade and Investment Strategy 2023-27 and highlighted the Summer of Cricket Sports Innovation Summit being held in Brisbane in December. #Queensland #InternationalEducationandTraining #InternationalStudents

It's been a big month for Study Queensland in South America. We recently attended the Vente Australia Fairs, alongside Study New South Wales and Study Melbourne. Held in Peru, Colombia and Chile, the international events were the first of their kind, aimed at showcasing Australia as a premier destination for students pursuing a world-class education. Alongside this, the Study Queensland team hosted a series of satellite events in Bogotá, Santiago and Lima. Targeted at education agents, student counsellors and alumni, we took the opportunity to showcase a number of the Queensland providers and stakeholders already in South America for the Vente Australia Fairs. #InternationalEducation #StudyQueensland #VenteAustraliaFairs #ExpoVenteAustralia #Queensland #InternationalStudents

Study Queensland and Migration Queensland in collaboration with Experience Gold Coast, recently hosted an event for local businesses looking to diversify their recruitment with skilled migrant talent. The evening brought together international students and skilled migrants for masterclass sessions that included tips on how to network effectively, facilitated by Emmagness Ruzvidzo. Alongside this, local employers received information on the latest pathways to hire global talent and the importance of leveraging skilled migrants in today’s workforce. Thank you to our wonderful panel of local Gold Coast employers who shared their stories on hiring and retaining global talent - Darron Nutt, GANDEN Engineers and Project Managers, Tonielle O’Hara, dnata, Gabriela Damaceno, Culture Kings, and Kyzzy Romano, Multicultural Communities Council Gold Coast Ltd. The Gold Coast is one of the fastest growing economies in Australia and filling current skills shortages is a key challenge for businesses. Employers who recognise and leverage the potential of international students, graduates, and skilled migrants, benefit from having a diverse workforce that contributes to the vibrancy of workplaces in multiple ways - through connections to new clients, supply chains, ideas, skills and expertise. #GOLDCOASTBUSINESSWEEK #InternationalStudents #StudyQueensland #GoldCoast
