As we reflect on 2024, we're celebrating our exceptional team. This year marked a significant transformation as Sprint Ventures embraced a fully remote work environment. Our morning calls have become a cherished ritual where we share all sorts of news, from weekend adventures to work in progress, or sick kids to startups we've got our eye on. We've found creative ways to stay connected and aligned to our mission and held amazing in-person events that then bring the team together, along with our wider Sprint community. Looking ahead to 2025, we're excited about this foundation we've built. Our team has proven that distance is no barrier to collaboration or excellence. Our General Partner, Llew Jury, conveniently injured himself a couple of days beforehand so couldn't prove to us that he can do the crow pose. But the rest of us got on with it! Thanks to all those who came along and experienced an amazing morning of yoga and coffee with us last week for our special event at Peregian Digital Hub with our partner, Amazon Web Services (AWS). Whether it was the beach views, new connections, or caffeine that followed, we trust you left feeling happy and energised.

We were delighted to see more than 70 people attend our special event about harnessing AI for good, held at Peregian Digital Hub and in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS). We discussed how we, as a tech community, can steer AI in a positive direction and heard from leading investors, founders and tech experts including Llew Jury from Sprint Ventures, Sara Richardson from Leakster Pty Ltd and Ben Duncan from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Moderated by Coby Sullivan, the conversation covered: key criteria to look for when investing in AI startups, scaling a business for global impact, the most exciting AI-enabled startups emerging globally, AI ethics, and the sheer power and hardware required to run inference at scale.
