Emotions drive decisions. It’s that simple. Your audience might justify a purchase with logic, but it’s their feelings that seal the deal. That’s why emotional connection in ad copy isn’t just important, it’s everything. • It grabs attention in a sea of sameness. • Builds trust by making people feel seen. • Turns "maybe" into "take my money." • Sticks in their minds long after the scroll. • And, if done right, gets shared like wildfire. Emotional ads don’t just sell, they encourage relationships, and in marketing, relationships are the real ROI.

🚨 PSA - I NEED YOUR HELP! 🚨 I'm currently planning a post-purchase strategy for one of my clients at Social & Staple that's all about personalisation. I'm tailoring the journey to the product each customer buys and doubling down on rewarding their most loyal customers🤝 Here's where you come in...👀 As a consumer, what's a post-purchase experience that stood out to you? When have you felt like more than just another order number? Who is nailing their customer retention strategy? Tell me your thoughts! I'd love to hear your perspective as both a consumer and a marketer.

📣 PSA small-medium business owners (+ those that work with them): Black Friday & Cyber Monday is now in the rearview mirror. If you're feeling a little disheartened by all the HUGE success stories flooding your feed, let this be your reminder: success is RELATIVE. The truth is, BFCM is dominated by big brands with big discounts and big budgets, and for the most part, big teams. But that shouldn't take away from your wins 🏆 Whether you hit your goals, learned something new, or just survived, it's worth celebrating. Take a moment to reflect, pat yourself on the back, and show some love to the team that helped you through it. You showed up for your business during one of the busiest times of the year. Be proud of it.

DITCH THE AGENCY.... There’s a lot of noise out there at the moment about agencies taking your money, delivering poor results, and how it’s supposedly "better" to manage your ads in-house. And honestly, I get it. A bad experience with an agency can leave a sour taste, and no one knows your brand better than you do. But here’s the thing: not all agencies are created equal. Working with a smaller agency isn’t about handing over the reins and hoping for the best. It’s about partnership. We don’t just "manage" your ads, we fully immerse ourselves in your brand. (Quite literally, you can't get rid of us). We think of ourselves as an extension of your team, not just another service provider. And here’s where the magic happens: instead of paying for one in house employee, you get a team. A team of 3-4 specialists brainstorming, analysing, optimising, and (most importantly) making your business money. That’s our job. It’s not about what we can take from you, it’s about what we can give back. Now, don’t get me wrong, having an understanding of ads in house is a huge advantage. Brands that "get it" are better equipped to make smart decisions, and that includes knowing when to partner with the right people. So, if you’re sceptical about agencies, you’re not alone. But know this: there are good ones out there. Ones that care about your brand as much as you do. Ones that will treat your budget like their own. Ones that want to see you succeed. If that resonates, let’s have a chat. The best partnerships are built on trust, and we’d love to show you what we’re all about. Social & Staple

It’s not about agencies being “bad”, sometimes it’s about finding the right fit 🤝 Five months ago, Lil Goldie came to SS after feeling overlooked by a larger agency focused solely on conversions. There was no long-term strategy and no understanding of the target audience. This resulted in unprofitable sales and targeting that didn’t match the brand’s vision. Fast forward to today, I’ve helped them lock in 6-12 month goals and worked closely with the owners to overcome growth challenges. I’ve even unlocked underutilised channels for nurturing their warm audience. Wins last month: 📈 Paid Advertising: Their ad performance has skyrocketed. Going from a ROAS of 2.56 to 9.10 in just a few months. I’ve drawn upon learnings from other clients operating in this space to identify the current target audience leading to 69.79% decrease in cost per purchase. 💌 Email Marketing: This channel had been sitting dormant for six months, barely tapped into and full of potential. The moment I got my hands on it, I knew there was so much more we could achieve. In just one month, I’ve ignited a 533.63% surge in revenue; proof of what a warm and highly engaged audience can do with the right strategy in place. And this is only the beginning. Sometimes it’s just about finding the right partner. Send me a message if you’re interested in working together. Read more on the Shower Thoughts blog https://lnkd.in/g5n747p9

How did I become a baby / kidswear brand expert??? I’m not a mum…unless being a dog mum counts! 🐶 But that hasn’t stopped me from being the go-to for baby and kidswear brands at Social & Staple. Honestly, one of the best ways to grow as a marketer is by diving into brands that aren't exactly in your wheelhouse. Since taking these clients on, I’ve devoured their data, analysed their audience, and stayed glued to industry trends. Most importantly, I’ve listened (I mean really listened) to every word from the brand owners. I may not be a parent, but I know how to translate what works in my world to theirs ✨ #brandstrategy #kidswearmarketing #babybrands #marketingagency

🧠 Take a look at my recent article on Social & Staple's shower thoughts blog. The 60/40 Marketing Rule: Finding the Right Balance for Long-Term Success In marketing, it’s easy to get caught up in chasing those quick wins - seeing that spike in Shopify sales can get pretty addicting - but as the saying goes, "good things take time”, especially when it comes to making your brand memorable. I can bet my bottom dollar that you cannot remember the Black Friday offers you shopped from last year, but that one television commercial from over 10 years ago takes up some pretty significant real estate in your memory. For me, it’s “charter boat? What charter boat” - need I say less. So how can you create a strategy that balances short-term wins with long-term growth? Enter the 60/40 rule. So, what does the 60/40 rule mean? Simply put, it suggests that 60% of your marketing efforts should focus on brand-building - the things that make you famous and build a lasting emotional connection with your audience. The remaining 40% should go toward sales activation, which makes your sales skyrocket - think flash sales, BOGOs etc. Take a look at the graph attached. The yellow lines represent short-term sales activation. As you can see, each campaign brings a sharp boost in sales, but once the campaign ends, the numbers drop right back down. It’s like a quick burst of energy - great for immediate results, but it doesn’t have a lasting, memorable effect (just like that Black Friday sale last year). Now, look at the orange line. This shows the long-term effect of brand-building. While the results are less dramatic in the short term, over time, they build up and lead to steady, sustainable growth. Think of brand-building as the foundation of your business. It might take longer to see the payoff, but once it’s in place, it keeps your brand top of mind and drives loyalty. Since the ripe old age of 12 I knew that RACQ offered insurance, and you bet 5 years later, it was the first quote I submitted for my first car. The beauty of the 60/40 rule is that it gives you the best of both worlds. You get the quick wins from sales activation, keeping the cash flow healthy, but you’re also building something that will last - a brand that people recognise, trust, and come back to time and time again. At Social & Staple, our goal isn’t just to help our brands succeed today, but to make them memorable for years to come.

Ever find yourself stuck in a group chat that’s gone silent for days, only to be bombarded with a hundred messages all at once? 😅 Yeah, communication can make or break just about anything—and that’s especially true in the world of digital marketing. 👭 A Tale of Two Clients Let’s kick things off with a success story. When we first teamed up with Client X, our conversations were like that quiet group chat—sparse and frustrating. No regular check-ins, no clear strategy, and the result? A total standstill. The client was left wondering what they were even paying for, and our team was stuck in limbo, unable to move forward without their input. Tensions ran high, confusion reigned, and progress? Nowhere to be seen. So, we switched things up. We started holding fortnightly calls, set up a go-to-market (GTM) calendar, and rolled out meeting agendas that kept everyone on the same page. Suddenly, both teams were in sync, knew what needed to be done, and could finally make things happen 🫶. The Results? ✅ 324% increase in conversion performance ✅ 383% jump in engagement metrics But it didn’t stop there. By taking the reins on their email marketing, we helped Client X expand internationally, opening doors to new customers and all new potential. The outcome? ✅ 422.8% increase in conversions ✅ 63% growth in their database ✅ 25.6% boost in engagement Now, let’s flip the coin... We’ve also seen what happens when communication goes MIA. Another client, facing some internal challenges, deprioritised cross-team communication. The result? Total chaos. The outcome? ❌ 79.4% drop in conversion ❌ 46% average drop in engagement performance The lack of communication led to a loss of consistency, pushed the client into reactive marketing, and pulled them away from their top-level strategy. The brand’s stability took a hit, and in the end, customers lost the trust they had in the brand. Consistency is key—customers want to know that the brand they love today will still be there tomorrow, offering the same quality and experience. I always like to say that everything can be turned into a learning opportunity so here is mine: Clear, consistent communication between clients and agencies isn’t just a nice to have; it’s the foundation of success. When both teams are aligned and working towards shared goals, the potential for brand growth is endless. It’s this kind of synergy that strengthens brand identity, presence, and performance, drives engagement, and builds lasting customer relationships. #DigitalMarketing #ClientSuccess #AgencyLife #BrandGrowth #ClearCommunication #BrandStrategy

The key to success? It starts with a solid strategy. Goals alone won't cut it; you need a clear roadmap to achieve them. Working agency side and dealing with over 30 brands, I've seen passion and big ideas, but too often, they lack direction. Without a strategy, ideas fall flat, and consumer engagement suffers because the foundation isn't there. To position yourself for success, define your goals clearly and map out how every part of your business contributes to achieving them. It's all about Strategy, Strategy, Strategy! (louder for those in the back). My advice: Align short and long term goals and build a cohesive strategy that everyone including, internal teams and agencies can rally behind. That's when you'll see the results.
