[ NEWS ] BRISBANE’S NEXT ICONIC LANDMARK: PLANS UNVEILED FOR TALLEST TOWER OUTSIDE THE CBD 🏙️ A bold new vision is set to transform South Brisbane as developers propose a 50-storey residential tower, making it the city’s tallest structure outside the CBD. Positioned near the iconic Skyneedle, this ambitious project by Aria Property Group promises to redefine urban living with its innovative design and community focus. Spanning an expansive 7,295m² site, the development will feature three towers (50, 40, and 24 storeys), offering 678 residential apartments, a 216-room luxury hotel, and world-class retail and dining precincts. At its heart will lie 3,650m² of publicly accessible green spaces, including a central 1,600m² community park—a gift to Brisbane’s residents and visitors. Architecturally, the project embodies sustainable design principles with vertical gardens, rooftop landscaping, and open-air courtyards, creating a “Buildings That Breathe” experience. Beyond just height, this project signals Brisbane’s rise as a global city, joining Sydney and Melbourne in hosting record-breaking towers outside their city centres. The tallest Tower C, housing the luxury hotel, is designed to cater to Brisbane’s growing tourism demand as the city prepares for the 2032 Olympics. With a vision for sustainability, connectivity, and community, this development will be a neighbourhood-transforming precinct. SHG is pleased to be part of the master planning for the redevelopment of the Redbank Plains Hardrock Quarry. SHG played a key role in the preparation of the site’s precinct plan and development code which will guide and streamline the future delivery of predominately residential uses of a low to medium density as well as complementary non-residential uses, open space, community facilities and conservation areas across the 186ha site. The project, managed by Atrio Property on behalf of the Trustee for the Vic Cumner Trust, will be an exciting new addition to the Redbank Plains and Augustine Heights area. Sometimes it’s the simple things that count. Mayfair Joyner has just finalised their latest open space offering for the community. A quick retrofit to a relatively unused and overgrown balance Council lot, the Mayfair open space now includes large, returfed kickabout, combination goal posts, bench seating, shade trees, bins and DDA access pathways. This area provides invaluable open, turf areas for residents to stretch out and get some practice in the footy offseason! Thanks to McAndrew Group and City of Moreton Bay for once again collaborating with Saunders Havill Group.
