🎉 Look at this haul! These groceries are just part of what we collected during our Foodbank Food Drive, thanks to the incredible generosity of our people. 💛 This year, our teams stepped up to support Foodbank SA & NT, filling collection points across the business with non-perishable food donations – from pasta and rice to tinned goods and long-life milk. It’s a simple act, but one that means so much – especially at Christmas.

For many years now, the State Library of South Australia has been a place where Christmas magic comes to life. This year, local authors, storytellers, and volunteers gathered under Adelaide’s largest indoor Christmas tree in the Mortlock Chamber to share their favourite festive tales. Our very own Head of IT Operations, Saibeth, was among the storytellers, sharing How the Grinch Stole Christmas and bringing smiles to the families listening. Reflecting on the experience, Saibeth said: "This year was my third time, and my favourite part is watching the kids' faces when they come into the library and see the giant Christmas tree for the first time. I also love reading stories to really young kids; if you can't hold their attention, they vote with their feet! This certainly ensures you try to make each story as engaging as possible." 📅 While the storytelling has wrapped up for the season, you can still visit the stunning tree until 5 January 2025. Entry is free, so don’t miss this festive display! Head to the State Library’s website for more details: https://lnkd.in/gfGjCXGE

Our mostly office-based teams decided to roll up their sleeves and get out into the community to make a difference this festive season, 75 of our people from across various departments have joined the Sammy D Foundation at the West Lakes gift-wrapping station, helping wrap presents and raise funds for a violence-free future. Every donation goes towards educating young people on staying safe, thanks to Sammy D Foundation for creating this opportunity for our teams. 🌟 You can find our Wrapping Angels at West Lakes until 24 December — drop by, get your gifts wrapped, and support this amazing cause! 🎁

🎄 The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear… but maybe not in the State Library 😉 while admiring the largest indoor Christmas tree in Adelaide. Beautifully set up in the stunning Mortlock Chamber, this festive display was brought to life with the help of our talented CBD depot crew. Watch this timelapse showcasing their impressive work assembling and decorating the tree – a true festive masterpiece! 📅 The tree is on display until 5 January 2025 - with free entry. A big shout-out to 28 of our Finance & Corporate Services and Digital & Technology team who recently volunteered with Backpacks 4 SA Kids, wrapping Christmas gifts for children in need. These gifts will bring joy to children entering emergency care this Christmas, with each one thoughtfully wrapped and placed in a Santa Sack to make them feel extra special. While the wrapping is done for this year, Backpacks 4 SA Kids always welcomes donations to continue supporting those who need it most. Want to get involved? We've officially submitted our Revised Regulatory Proposal 2025-30 to the Australian Energy Regulator (AER). This proposal outlines how we’ll continue managing South Australia’s electricity distribution network from July 2025. Shaped by two years of valuable input from our customers and stakeholders, the proposal balances service and affordability. We’ve worked hard to ensure it’s backed by thorough analysis, reliable forecasting, and efficient investment planning. The AER is now inviting feedback from consumers, and we encourage you to have your say. Submissions can be sent to SAPN2025@aer.gov.au by 17 January 2025. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed their time and insights to help us refine our plans. Your feedback has been pivotal in shaping a proposal that reflects what matters most to South Australians. Want to explore the details? This Christmas, SA Power Networks is excited to join the SA Power Networks Employee Foundation to support OzHarvest. With a $10,000 donation, we’ll help provide 20,000 meals for South Australians who need it most. OzHarvest does amazing work rescuing surplus food and getting it to people who could really use a hand. It’s inspiring to see how something so simple can have such a big impact. Earlier this week, our CEO Andrew Bills handed over the cheque to Rachel Hibble and Bel Symons from OzHarvest. This reflects our shared commitment to supporting meaningful initiatives that give back to the community.

Yesterday, we joined leaders from across the nation at The Energy Charter CEO Forum, a platform for driving meaningful change for customers and communities. Our CEO, Andrew Bills, shared how SA Power Networks is playing a pivotal role in the energy transition through the #BetterTogether initiatives, tackling challenges like rising cost-of-living pressures to supporting community energy resilience. It was a privilege to participate in the Energy Charter CEO Forum yesterday, where we explored how to put humans at the heart of the energy transition. The discussions highlighted the significant challenges we face, from rising cost-of-living pressures to preparing our networks for growing electricity demand. At the same time, we uncovered incredible opportunities to innovate, collaborate, and ensure the transition is equitable and sustainable for everyone. I’m particularly proud of the role SA Power Networks is playing, from leading #BetterTogether initiatives like customer-led tariffs to supporting community energy resilience. These efforts are about delivering real value for customers while facilitating the energy transition. A big thank you to The Energy Charter team and all the panellists for the thoughtful discussions and valuable insights shared, these will help shape our approach to delivering a more sustainable and customer-focused energy future.

Long hours, tough conditions, and an unforgettable experience—that’s how Steve Douglas, Team Leader in our Telecommunications Network Control group, described his time battling Canada’s devastating wildfires in August 2024. “It was incredibly hard work—long hours and exhausting days,” Steve said. “But in a word? Awesome. It was an unforgettable adventure, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.” For five weeks, Steve worked 12–14-hour days, with just two days off between shifts, using his leadership and problem-solving skills to help communities thousands of miles from home. What stood out most to Steve was the connection he felt with his team. “The sense of camaraderie and shared purpose was incredible,” he said. “Even in the toughest moments, we supported each other, and that made all the difference.” We’re sharing Steve’s story because it reflects the values that drive our people—teamwork, resilience, and stepping up when it matters most, whether it’s here in South Australia or across the world. 💪 We’re proud of the difference our people make, at home and abroad. #Community #Safety #Teamwork
