RAAFA STIRLING APARTMENTS TOPS OUT The RAAFA Stirling Apartments have been four years in the making. From meaningful community engagement to the design development and the recent completion of the building's structural phase, this independent seniors' living building is in the next stage of development at the RAAFA Air Force Memorial Estate master plan.   Last month, Will Schofield and Tristan Whelan from our Perth studio joined RAAFA WA and Georgiou for the topping-out ceremony. It was a special moment. As tradition goes, a jacaranda sapling was raised to the building’s highest point, symbolising good fortune for its future residents.   Reflecting on the project, Will says, “We’re deeply honoured to work with RAAFA and Georgiou on this important project. Plus in Melbourne and Geelong came together on Monday for another unforgettable Christmas party and a toast to an amazing year! The day was packed with festive cheer, providing a moment to also celebrate Nigel Mak being promoted to ESD Lead and Drew Caddy our new BIM Manager. A massive thank you to our students Brianna Trajcevski, Jen An Nguyen, Geoffrey C., Trygg Buoy and Nicholas Soppi – and our Admin team, Erin Loudon and India Ellison, for organising such a fun celebration. Our Plus team in Queensland rang in the festive season yesterday with an action-packed end-of-year celebration! The day kicked off with Secret Santa, a raffle, and our much-loved monthly breakfast, setting the tone for a day full of fun and festivities.   Afterwards, we boarded Yot Vice for a stunning cruise along the Brisbane River. BAREFOOT LUXURY • La Mer, Main Beach Celebrating coastal living through design that harmonises with its natural surroundings, La Mer by Odus draws inspiration from the headlands and rocky outcrops seen along the coastline, creating a form that is both dynamic and enduring. “It’s not a transient building that is here one year and not the next,” explains Danny Juric, Director. “This is a place of permanence. We took inspiration from the headlands and the rocky outcrops that you’ll see up and down the Gold Coast. We’ve then created a very glassy, very transparent and sophisticated, and quite rhythmic building.” From its flowing organic forms to protected balconies designed for year-round use, La Mer embodies a thoughtful response to its location, balancing functionality and coastal luxury. Our team in Sydney wrapped up a successful 2024 with a fantastic Christmas Party. This year’s theme, mixed-metal ‘Lustre,’ was a nod to the traditional 10th-anniversary gift of tin or aluminium – a perfect way to celebrate milestone year in Sydney.
