Recognising Brett’s bravery and leadership, and thank you to all of our NSW Ambulance Paramedics for all that you do.
FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE: Inspector Brett Simpson was the first paramedic on the scene at Bondi Junction on 13 April, 2024. Nothing could have prepared him for what he was about to walk into but the selfless and heroic actions he took that day led to many more lives being saved. The leadership and initiative he showed in what was a dangerous and unpredictable environment serves as an inspiration to us all. Today Brett was presented with the Commissioner’s Valour Medal, the highest bravery award in NSW Ambulance, recognising distinguished performance of duties in circumstances of extreme peril. We also acknowledged and recognised the dozens of NSW Ambulance staff who attended Bondi Junction and paid our respects to the friends and family who lost loved ones. #NSWAmbulance
