  • On Thursday 14 November, we hosted our 13th Welcome Baby to Country event. This was a significant moment, as 42 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Boorais (Woi-wurrung for baby or child) were welcomed to the traditional lands of the Wurrundjeri Woi-wurrung and Gunung-Willam-Balluk by local elder Aunty Joy Murphy. The ceremony provided an opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate living culture and acknowledge the importance of a child’s sense of identity and belonging, and connection to community and the traditional lands 🖤💛❤️ This event is made by possible by the Maternal and Child Health – Aboriginal Engagement team at Hume City Council.

  • We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of dedicated teacher's aide Eleanor Bryant, in Riddells Creek this week. Our hearts go out to Eleanor's family, friends, colleagues, and the many young lives she helped shape. We have hundreds of staff who deliver kindergartens and early childhood services, and we understand the impact that the care and commitment they provide has on the community. We know how deeply this will be felt. We extend our heartfelt condolences and support to all those affected. May her legacy of kindness and dedication continue to inspire us all.
