Is your strategy stuck in the "messy middle"? You’ve spent months (or even years) crafting the perfect strategic plan. But as the dust settles on board approval, you realise the hardest part has just begun: getting it off the powerpoint and into execution. This is where strategy often gets lost—in the messy middle of translation and execution. Misalignment, resistance to change, and unclear priorities can derail even the most brilliant strategy. But it doesn’t have to be that way. 🚀 Imagine a streamlined path where your strategy moves seamlessly from vision to results—where spending a short time in design before jumping into delivery yields benefits beyond your expectations. In my experience, closing this gap can be a game-changer for growth and impact. Curious to learn how? Let’s connect. 💡 #healthcareinnovated #strategytranslation #designbeforedeliver

➡️ Building Organisational Innovation with the 4C Framework Today, perhaps more than ever, building an organisational “innovation muscle” is essential. As a healthcare innovation consultant, I’ve seen firsthand that fostering this capability takes more than ambition—it requires a systematic, human-centred approach. I recently came across the 4C framework: Commitment, Courage, Capability, and Confidence, a concept originally developed by renowned coach Dan Sullivan. Here’s how I thought these stages come together to create a powerful cycle of continuous growth and how they apply to driving innovation within organisations. ➡️ 1. Commitment: The Catalyst for Change Every journey towards meaningful innovation starts with true commitment. This isn’t about paying lip service to new ideas but making a deliberate, strategic choice to push forward even when risks are apparent. Commitment means prioritising resources and aligning teams towards goals that stretch beyond comfort zones. It’s up to leaders to champion this mindset, creating an environment that values forward momentum over complacency. ➡️ 2. Courage: Embracing Uncertainty and Learning Commitment sets the wheels in motion, but courage keeps them turning. Innovation demands venturing into the unknown, where outcomes aren’t guaranteed. Courage is the resolve to act and learn, even in the face of failure. Creating a space where teams feel empowered to test ideas, make mistakes, and share learnings transforms setbacks into stepping stones. It’s this iterative bravery that builds true resilience. ➡️ 3. Capability: Strength Through Practice Courage paves the way for growth, and with each attempt, organisations start to develop new capabilities. Every experiment—success or failure—adds to the collective know-how. This is where skills are refined, frameworks are adapted, and new ways of working become second nature. Building capability isn’t about perfection but about consistent practice that integrates lessons learned into the fabric of the organisation. ➡️ 4. Confidence: The Virtuous Cycle As capabilities solidify, so does confidence. This confidence fuels the willingness to take bigger bets and commit to bolder strategies. It’s a self-reinforcing cycle: confidence energises teams, strengthens trust, and drives a culture where innovation isn’t an isolated project—it’s a core strength. The belief that risks are worth taking becomes the engine for sustainable growth. When organisations nurture this 4C cycle—Commitment, Courage, Capability, and Confidence—they lay the foundation for lasting innovation. Each stage amplifies the next, creating an ecosystem where continuous improvement is a shared journey. Over time, what begins as a committed step evolves into a resilient culture where innovation thrives and adapts naturally. • Innovation whether entrepreneurship or within an existing business is hard and you really need to love what you do in order to go the distance. I sometimes hear people refer to innovation as the dessert you get after your real work is done, but Innovation is the work and it is hard. Leading change with passion is critical What are your thoughts on this? #healthcareinnovated https://lnkd.in/gecNiKw5
