Sometimes an opportunity comes along that's just too special to miss. Yesterday's Salon Canberra lunch at Grainger Gallery was one of those moments where we had the incredible privilege of hearing from Hannah Quinlivan, an extraordinary artist from Canberra with a growing national and international reputation. The lunch provided a really special opportunity to explore the convergence of art, meditation, and individual experience through Hannah's work and unique perspective. Hannah's currently showcasing her multi-disciplinary exhibition "Resonance" at Grainger Gallery. This immersive exhibition utilises the threads of her spatial drawings to examine the interplay of time, place, and materiality. Canberrans may be familiar with Hannah’s public works, including her upcoming major installation “Life Force” at the new Canberra Hospital Expansion. Many will also recall her pieces at the Canberra Metro Light Rail stations and her 2020 work “Shroud” on Lake Burley Griffin during Contour 556. Hannah is also currently working on a commission for the National Arboretum. Hannah’s contributions to the art world extend beyond Canberra, with numerous solo exhibitions at venues such as the National Portrait Gallery and public artworks installed in Brisbane and Sydney. Her international and group exhibitions further highlight her talent and vision. This was an amazing and memorable event. I’m looking forward to more collaborations with Grainger Gallery and to profiling more incredible local artists. #art #architecture #architecturalart #design #infrastructure #placemaking #artgallery #anuschoolofart #graingergallery #saloncanberra #canberra Photo credit: Peter Smith
