One of the common hurdles faced by mining operations worldwide is the utilisation of thermal lancing practices to cut through seized components during maintenance. Thermal lancing, while effective, introduces hazards such as severe burns, eye injuries, fire risks, and toxic fume emissions, making it a safety concern for mining professionals. Beyond safety, the process incurs substantial expenses, covering equipment, labour, and potential damage to nearby machinery. In response to these challenges, Geographe has introduced a tool known as the Colleted Pin Assembly (CPA) Installation & Removal Tool. Specifically designed to address pin changeouts in Komatsu haul trucks, the CPA Installation & Removal Tool effectively removes seized pins without the need for thermal lancing.
