We're excited to bring the Geographe brand and product line to our mining customers in the Americas!

Wrapping up my 2024 travels, I recently visited Geographe to introduce our newest team member, Jorge Morron, to the headquarters team. It's always a pleasure to spend time at our factory, equipped with a foundry, induction hardening, gas carburization, CNC machining, automated guided vehicles, robots, quality control, product development & design, Engineering, and sales operations. Thanks Geoff Mutton for the invigorating factory tour as always. The continuous advancement of our operations is top-notch! This year, I had the opportunity to visit approximately 25 mines, covering extensive air and road miles, and taking nearly 80 international and domestic flights to stay connected with our customers. The video below is just a couple of snippets I managed to sneak out of the factory. Shhh, don't tell anyone! As we approach the end of 2024, I extend warm holiday wishes to all. May you find time to unwind and rejuvenate for a productive 2025 ahead!

  • A few years ago, Geographe faced a pivotal moment during the Australian mining downturn, prompting us to rethink our operations to stay ahead of industry demands. Our solution? Embracing SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP to drive efficiency and set the stage for sustainable growth. Here's how we leveraged SAP S/4HANA to enhance our operations: The mining downturn highlighted the need for a more agile and scalable approach to our business processes. Partnering with DyFlex Solutions, experts in SAP implementation, we were able to integrate SAP S/4HANA Cloud, which allowed us to streamline inefficient and time-consuming manual processes, ensuring we remained competitive and ready for global expansion. This resulted in significant improvements in our inventory management, sales operations, supply chain, and dispatch. Which further empowered us to respond more effectively to customer needs, predict demand, and optimise production and supply chain operations. As our CEO, Sam Hyder, puts it: "We felt that the only way for us to move forward was on the new platform that SAP was using globally." This forward-thinking approach ensured we could offer our customers unparalleled quality and service, even during challenging market conditions! Induction hardening a pin is like giving it the superhero treatment... By heating the pin with an electromagnetic field and then quenching it in cool water, the surface hardens dramatically while the core stays tough and flexible. Taking a tough, but regular pin and turning it into a true workhorse for mining operations. This creates a pin that can withstand the brutal stresses of mining, from intense pressure to constant wear, without cracking or losing its shape. It’s like giving your mining pin a suit of armour, ensuring it stays reliable even in the harshest conditions, while the core remains strong enough to bend, not break. Need a superhero on your site? • One of the common hurdles faced by mining operations worldwide is the utilisation of thermal lancing practices to cut through seized components during maintenance. Thermal lancing, while effective, introduces hazards such as severe burns, eye injuries, fire risks, and toxic fume emissions, making it a safety concern for mining professionals. Beyond safety, the process incurs substantial expenses, covering equipment, labour, and potential damage to nearby machinery. In response to these challenges, Geographe has introduced a tool known as the Colleted Pin Assembly (CPA) Installation & Removal Tool. Specifically designed to address pin changeouts in Komatsu haul trucks, the CPA Installation & Removal Tool effectively removes seized pins without the need for thermal lancing. By eliminating the need for thermal lancing, the CPA Installation & Removal Tool decreases extended downtime-related costs while minimising safety risks to maintenance teams! • We all have an old mate. You know, the one that does things the way it has always been done. If your only tool is a hammer then everything looks like a nail. What if there was a better way? A safer or faster way? Built with safety, efficiency, and power in mind, Geographe has rethought how maintenance teams tackle removing seized haul truck ball studs. 🚫 Less sledgehammers, grinders, and no more hot works (no nails either 😊) ✅ Say hello to safer, faster, and smarter maintenance. Let’s leave “the way we’ve always done things” in the past and embrace a tool designed to protect today’s maintenance teams. Haul Truck maintenance doesn't need to be hazardous, The new 777 Ball Stud Removal Tool (BSRT) is here!
