Genos was formed in August 2002 by Swinburne University to bring to the market the first Australian model and measure of emotional intelligence developed by Dr Ben Palmer and Professor Con Stough. Since this time, Genos has grown into an integrated product and service firm now operating in Australia and the UK, with an extensive partner network offering Genos assessments and programs across North America, Europe, India, China, South Africa, South East Asia and New Zealand. Our team includes experts in assessment and survey design, research, building learning programs, and integrating these to deliver results into businesses. All our coaches and faciliators are credentialed and experienced professionals themselves. We practice what we teach and each share a personal commitment to what we do. How do you celebrate the end of a big day? Or week? Or project? Creating memorable moments to mark significant events is important. And we did it with style at our global conference in Bangkok. We wrapped up a huge day of learning with an epic TukTuk ride akin to a motorcade fit for royalty - thai style. Not sure any work event will ever live up to this. But grateful to have the memories captured thanks to Daniel Stone and his amazing camera work and editing skills. There's only one person in the world than can pull off something of this scale - Marie-Jean Richmond you really out did yourself! Thank you for creating such an enjoyable experience for us all. Chefs are known to be incredibly stressed and burnt out. On the flip side, they’re also very creative, passionate and talented people. Faced with industry wide recruitment and retention issues in Ireland, plus a deep concern for the wellbeing of chefs, Restaurant & Hospitality Skillnet approached Genos Certified Practitioner, Una Crilly from Positive Impact, to help. With Genos Grow in hand, Una started with 30 head and executive chefs from the very top hotels in the country. Like it or not, there’s a huge cohort of “meh” in every business. That is, employees that are doing a decent job – but nothing to rave or complain about. They have a neutral impact on their team members – ie make their teams feel, well, nothing. But is doing OK going to create great outcomes? When people do just enough – it’s not enough – but they’re so close to being great. In his eye-opening session at the Genos Global Conference, Jeff Summers Managing Director, Genos North America, revealed you can absolutely find those that are doing just enough, and help accelerate them to greatness starting with simple improvements by building their emotional intelligence. The impact of this on an organisation’s culture is astronomical as Jeff has seen in North America, time and time again. In the words of Maya Angelou, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”. Emotionally Intelligent leaders make their teams feel valued, safe, happy, heard and more. And that’s the stuff that positive, innovative cultures are made of.
