About us

We're a proud West Australian company, recognised for our culture, Values, innovation and industry leading development of infrastructure and mining assets. As one of the world’s lowest cost iron ore producers, Fortescue is now shipping at an annual rate of over 180 million tonnes with more than 1.7 billion tonnes of iron ore delivered to our customers since 2008. Through our green energy and technology company FFI, we are rapidly diversifying our business to become an integrated, global green energy and resources company. Key to this transition are our industry leading targets to achieve carbon neutrality for Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 and net zero Scope 3 emissions by 2040. For our size and scale, there is no other mining company in the world that is taking the action we are to eliminate emissions.

Large-scale production of #GreenIron in Western Australia could generate tens of billions of dollars in economic value while supporting in excess of 20,000 jobs along the way. A new report by CME found WA's green iron potential could reduce global emissions by 1.2% by 2050. This is equivalent to eliminating every tonne of CO2 currently produced in Australia.

  • Who has time to wait around for things to charge? On a mine site every second counts. With the help of a generous A$10 million grant from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and a visit from Assistant Minister Josh Wilson MP , we are powering through the development of our 6MW fast chargers that will be able to charge our future 240-tonne Liebherr T 264 battery electric trucks in just 30 minutes! These chargers will be built and tested at our Fortescue Zero facility in Perth before being sent to our Pilbara sites, with the first production charger to be deployed in late 2025. That's Real Zero in action!
