I got rejected today. I was told that my paperwork (4 weeks of preparation) wasn't proper enough. I woke up with a terrible stomachache, refreshing the appointment booking page endlessly, hoping to get a cancellation spot before I could go there, queue up for a few hours, and wait. I got a spot! (Yay! Always knew I'm a lucky girl). I went to the appointment, waited, paid for everything. Then I got rejected. In a moment, fear, sadness, and anxiety swept me off my feet. I tried to stay strong, but honestly, I felt defeated. I went home and lay in my sorrow and sadness, researching aimlessly on what to do next. I am the happy-go-lucky, the leader, the soldier who right now doesn't know what to do next. Then, after a few hours of allowing myself to be in my sadness, I decided to get up. I looked at the girl in the mirror—her gaze is gentle, her expression is soft, and I saw the spirit in her eyes. Right... I still got me. And Trang doesn't give up. Bad times don't last. They never do. I am a warrior. 2015. I was broke. 2 months behind on rent. On a temporary visa. Couldn't find a job. No family in Australia. I made $800 a month doing 4 jobs: assembling in a factory, ironing, waitressing, and tutoring. And some months it wasn’t enough to pay for rent and food. So I even went into photography competitions to make some extra money. I'd just graduated. No company wanted to take me because I didn't have a permanent visa. And without a job, I didn't have the money or qualifications to apply for the permanent visa. It was a vicious cycle... I was depressed, feeling unsupported. I cried most nights... And then got up at 5 AM to start the factory job. In the darkest of times, the Trang of 9 years ago, with so much less awareness and personal empowerment than I have now, promised herself 2 things: 1. I will not go begging on the street. I am healthy, I can work, and I can speak English. And I will fight the f*cking way to survive. I'm not negotiating. 2. I will not give up on what my heart told me to be right for me—staying in Australia. And I kept the promises I made to myself. If I could survive those many months of rock-bottoms, I can survive anything. I am simply just stubborn as f*ck to give up on anything that I deeply want and KNOW that it's for me in my heart. I am not telling this story to impress you. I know you have it too. Those things that you know deep down in your heart and your soul that are for you. So you fight for it no matter what. So you don't give up. You might fall, but you won't break. You will outlast the bad times. Have you ever had one of those moments where you realised that every single moment, everything that has happened in your life, has finally come down to this moment... this is exactly how it was meant to be? And everything happened according to plan—not yours—but it was meant to happen this way. And you are exactly where you need to be. For the longest time, I struggled to write my story. I listened to countless teachings, ebooks, and podcasts on how to tell my story... the defining moments, the turning points, the lessons... I wrote so many stories for our clients, yet I struggled when it came to mine. Perhaps because there are so many pieces that come down to this moment, and they're all different parts of who I am. So today, I decided to just share from my heart. I was born with a gift—a cleft lip. For the longest time, I didn’t see it that way. I was deep in shame. Shame that I wasn’t enough. Shame that I was less than others because I didn’t have a normal body. Shame that, because of that, I would forever be lonely, inadequate, and have no friends—because that’s what I experienced as a kid. It was a small missing piece on my body and a big wound in my heart. Until one day, I realised it wasn’t just me. We are all angels who try to cut down our wings so we can look like everybody else. So we can be 'normal.' So we can fit in. But my darling, you’re meant to fly. I am so fortunate that my wings are physical and permanent, so I couldn’t cut them down. I got to experience deeply, from a very young age, what it’s like to stand on the sidelines, wanting so badly to belong. I got to experience what it’s like to be "different," to never feel like I could fit in. I got to experience what it’s like to work so hard and be a high-achiever to make up for what I "lacked," for the not-enoughness. Then I got to experience what it’s like to FLY. The funny thing is, now NOBODY EVEN NOTICES my cleft lip! It was just me. Now I get to experience what it’s like to treasure my own beauty and others’ and see beauty in everyone. I get to experience what it’s like to never fit in, so I don’t worry about it—fitting in isn’t even a thing! Now I get to experience my own magnificence and attract others into my world who have their own magnificence, and we get to share our journeys together. Continue in the comment 👇

What my 8-month-old niece taught me about content creation. Over the past 3 years, one of the biggest questions I have noticed from talking to hundreds of coaches on sales calls has been the HOW questions. How do I create heart-moving, action-inspiring content when I'm not good at writing? And then how do I endure spending so many hours a week creating just a few pieces of content that might or might not get results, but I'll have to keep doing it for days on end? I've also seen a lot of us give up in the end and settle for paying someone a little bit and getting mediocre content, but at least we’re publishing every day. And you’re asking how to get out of this but not return to the frustration of content creation? I'm about to give you an answer to all 3. And it's a much different answer than having the right strategies. There are some solid strategies that can help you succeed, but you need to start from this space. I've learned it from one of the greatest teachers of all time. My 8-month-old niece. She doesn't know how to talk or walk yet... But she surely knows how to BE. When she is happy, she laughs joyously. When she is excited, she makes this endearing scream from the top of her lungs. When she doesn't want something, she pushes it away. When she is curious, she explores. When she is sad or tired, she doesn't try to laugh. When our eyes meet, if she feels it and she'd like to, she smiles at me in the most joyful way and my heart just melts. She simply just BE. And I cannot stop looking at her. Content creation is not hard. It's only hard when we are so hard on ourselves. It's only hard when, even before an idea can be written down, we already think of 1000+ ways that it might be rejected. It's only hard when we believe we need to be someone else to be worthy of attention. I wonder what it would look like for our content creation if we dropped the need to please others, to be perfect, to get it right, to get likes, comments, or followers, to get validation. If we could drop our worries about what other people think, drop all the BS that we were taught and have carried around for so long. And simply just BE. And let ourselves be sad, happy, curious, excited, or however we want to be. And share it, without a single fear. Write down whatever comes to us, let the ideas flow, capture the thoughts, record audios when the inspiration comes, record videos in the moment of us being ourselves. Then fit it into whatever framework you like, and hit publish. Content creation is about sharing YOU with the world. Maybe it's not going to 'cut it' for the wrong people. But the right people... Marketing agencies are expensive and heartless. I don't blame you if you have these beliefs. As an agency owner, I too have experienced times where I spent lots of money to get very disappointing results. I have entrepreneur friends who invested tens of thousands on 'money-back guarantee' offers and get neither the results nor the money back. I have lots of clients who came to me after being burned by other marketing agencies in the past. But expensive compared to what? The problem is not the price tag, the problem is that you don't know what exactly you are in for. Marketing agencies are not for everyone. They’re for a very specific type of business owner, and I'll share who that is with you at the end. For now, let's really look into how 'expensive' agencies are. Let's say an average content marketing agency that does all social media content, management/engagement, and marketing strategy for you could cost: $3K x 12 months = $36K a year. Now let's say you hire VAs instead. A full-time social media VA who can do it all (copywriting, designing, management, and engagement), would cost: $1.5K x 12 months = $18K a year. Sounds fair. But you haven't calculated all the time that you used to redo the content, giving feedback and getting frustrated about it all. Let's say you pay yourself $20 an hour, that would be: $20 x at least 10 hours of the actual work and frustration a week = $800 a month x 12 months = $9,600 a year. And the opportunity costs of at least 1,000 hours a year that you need to use to manage the team, trial and error for a marketing strategy that works, coaching and training, and getting stuck in the weeds instead of having time for your sales, coaching, strengthening your programs, working on your business... That is: $20 an hour x 1000 hours = $20,000 a year. In total, it actually costs you at least: $47K a year. 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱. What a lot of people don't realise is that by hiring marketing agencies that have spent years and lots of money to refine their craft and streamline their systems, you get to stand on what's already working and launch your business into faster results. You save years of trying to figure out what works. You save months of training a VA on how to think. You save months of actually getting really good at marketing, and if you don't enjoy marketing, that’s torture. You save hundreds of hours of redoing the work and the mental toll of the whole process. You save money on programs and courses trying to do it yourself. 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙥 for people who truly know how much their time is worth and want to invest it in doing the things they do best that would accelerate their business.
